What a Life

Keep the faith, stay positive and keep moving forward. I sometimes think about the pioneers that headed west for new opportunites. The journey could be rough, trying at times, but they pushed forward.

I believe the real estate market may be a little slow in some areas because most students have went back to school and parents are getting their children ready with new purchases, last minute trips and other activities. Most restaurants I know say late August through September is one of their slowest times of the year.

I believe the activity will pick up shortly and you will want to be ready. So keep doing what your doing and good things will happen. You may want to read Dean's book again for extra tidbits of information and keep updating your action plan each week. Good luck with real estate investing. Believe and Achieve! - Joe

I couldn't step off the site this morning without responding to your post. I can feel your frustration and pain in your writing and am glad you felt comfortable enough to share that here with your DG family. This site is one positive you have in your life!

If you are able, may I suggest you take some time to go somewhere you may not normally go to and be alone with your thoughts -- such as a park, the zoo, sitting by a fountain somewhere, etc. Let your mind wander and see where it goes. I've often had creative new ideas by doing that - ideas that you may ordinarily think "won't work" but could be the creative jolt you need to jumpstart your ads, finding new buyers and sellers, etc. Also, sometimes letting your mind free also brings forth some clarity to your situation which can lead to answers that you feel may be right for you.

Finally, is there anyone you can speak with to help unload your burden? A pastor, an old friend, a positive family member who is willing to listen and not judge. There are usually counselors you can find through your county that talk with people on a sliding fee basis...even for free depending upon the situation. Just talking out loud to someone who doesn't know you -- such as a counselor -- can lift the burden and make things feel more manageble.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope you soon begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel. You will get through this and be the stronger for it. Though I know it's difficult, the more positive you can stay in the face of adversity the quicker things will change in your favor. When feelings of bitterness, anger, doubt or any other negatives come your way -- including people who may be in your face being negative -- stop and take a deep breathe. Take that moment and then do your positive best to push it aside. All easier said than done I realize, but do it enough times and it becomes habit. People who are negative are unhappy with themselves or are scared. Sadly, you can't change the views of those people and they will continue on being negative until they decide to change themselves.

May I suggest that you go to the library and check out the book "The Four Agreements" by Don Miquel Ruiz. It is a quick read but I feel it would be beneficial to you in your personal situation.

I just wrote a quote in the positive quotes forum that said: "I will do today what others won't so tomorrow I'll have what other's don't." That's what you've been doing in real estate and I know you will succeed as you continue down this path.

Sorry to see you're going through a rough time. It happens to all of us from
time to time. Things will get better for you because from reading your prior
posts I (probably everyone on this site too) can tell you are a positive thinker.

Don't mean to make anybody feel bad but last August I was laid off from my 14 year job. I told my boss right away (who felt bad about my layoff) that tomorrow starts the 1st day of my new life and I'll be allright. Then in December my mother passed away. Then this past April my father passed. At that time I really felt blessed because of my layoff I was able to help both
my parents in their times of need. Then to make things worse we lost the most perfect dog in the world to poisoning of some kind.

Now the reason I posted all that stuff is to let you know something that has been verified by scientists. It has something to do with Quantum Physics and
The Laws of Attraction. Simply put,you attract more of what you focus on. If you're always focusing on never getting a sale (for example) then your mind will find ways to make that your reality. So simple but so complex.

Keep focusing on what you want and you'll be allright too.

I know how it can be when the negative people in your life are so close. I am finding that, when I'm drowning in negativity, if I spend time with positive people (most of whom I never met) in good books, and sites such as these it lightens my heart and help to get me back to my positive self.
You probably already know this, however, I hope that my saying it helps in some way.

Food for thought,perhaps this may be a good time to be thankful for what you do not have. My dad was a good one for saying no matter how bad things are in your life, you do not have to look to far to find someone worse off than you. That has always worked for me. Don't dwell on it, just keep it in your tool box, next to the can of, "I can do this". Hope things improve for you and your family. Remember you get more with sugar than you do vinegar. Unfortunately, we all go through difficult times. Sometimes they seem like they are never going to end. But they do. Just like the real estate market, life has its cycles and seasons. The important thing I wanted to mention is that you and only you have the power to change the way you view yourself, your family, and your situation. My wife recently got back from a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The experience she had there was life changing for her. In the two weeks she was gone, nothing in her life situation her in the states had changed, but her view of life and what was important had undergone a drastic metamorphosis. It was only her thoughts and perceptions that had changed. Nothing else. If you find that you are having difficulty mastering your own negative thoughts, try reading "Feeling Good" from David D. Burns, MD.

As you can see, one thing you can be thankful for is the number of people on this blog who are here to encourage you. Just know that almost all of us have times of discouragement, some even after having some success. Watch some of Dean's video blogs or watch videos of people talking about deals they've done and use these to encourage yourself. Remember, they all had to start somewhere. Write down your goals and put them somewhere that you see them often. Please do what ever you have to and know you will succeed. I look forward to hearing about your successes.

Financial Hardship is the number one culprit when it comes to marriages being dissolved. Not being able to make ends meet can cause frustration and bitterness to take root. I know all to well what it is like to feel enslaved to poverty. If you read any of my posts from when I started last year you will see that I too wanted to give up.

But just like me you have been presented with the opportunity to change your course in life and you now have people who are going through it with you here on Dean's forum.

The first thing you need to do is get your head together. Like aerialist said go somewhere and be alone.

Then you need to see what it is your offering in your adds. Is what your offering a deal? Is it enticing enough to draw people to respond? The Retail Market is now a wholesale market. With properties being offered sometimes 30% below market value on a retail level you have to make sure your deals are on a wholesale level by offering them even lower. I guarantee if you have "A DEAL" you will get calls! As early as last year Investors felt they were getting a deal if they could purchase a property at 70/30 or 30% below LTV. That is now the retail prices of properties so they expect even better deals from a wholesaler.

Bottom line is make sure you are only locking in properties that you know are Great deals or they will not sell. If you are not totally embarrassed by your offer to the seller you are offering to much for the property.

I know how you feel ive been there. Do only thing i could tell you dont give up. Show others that you can do it once you do then they will see why you are workig hard at this.

Everyone has already expressed what is evident, and what needs to be done. Anyone who said, life would be easy, lied. We face challenges on a daily basis, that is what makes us stronger. Let us look at life for a second, if everything was easy, what type of lifestyle would we live. We will not even use our cognitive abilities and maybe walk around like mummies. Challenges must come. Presenting an offer is a challenge, and waiting for the feedback is another challenge. We just have to avoid negativity and seek relationship with positive people. When I get home from work on evening, I thank God for another great day and for bringing me home safely. After having an evening meal, I always visit the DG site for solitude and calm. This is where I can expressed myself and feelings with my DG Family. There is always something new that I learn from the site everyday. Max you can do this, but you must stay focused and visit the site and read Dean's books for added information. You may want to find someone in your area to work with and maybe revist your dreams and goals. God Bless.

When I read your comment I knew exactly how you felt...since that moment I stop with the story and created a new story.......I kept on no matter what and today I made an offer....may not be accepted but nothing is going to get in my way of making my own story and that is keep the wagon going...You are awsom in sharing and DG family is soooooo compassionate about helping everyone.....thank you to all

your support and encouragements. I've taken a lot of your advice and started implementing them to make my family life a lot more positive and a lot less aggravating and negative. I've started back running more ads and various ads and now the responses are coming in once again. I've made it so that now the wife spends much more time with her family and friends and less here being annoying and negative with me(lol). But anywho I've started to look at things in a different light now and reflecting on the tasks at hand. Well hey, listen(lol) I'm not going to run on with some sob story all day about my life, I've got numbers to dial and possible buyers to talk to.

Sometimes when we think that the problem stems from others, we find that it is just a reaction from the negativity we reflect on them. It is imporant that we first learn to accept an be responsible for our own action. I've learned the hard way about running away thinking it is other people. But to only find out that the problem was within me. You can't run from you! In order to inspire others we need to set the example ourselves first. Just a we need to sell the home owner on the concept. Sometimes it takes selling your partner in life also. A wife is someone you lift up, not put down. Just my opinion!
