I just got off the phone with my first fully qualified investor! How did I meet him? I went to a REI Club meeting, and exchanged business cards with him after hearing that we live in the same town. We didn't get a chance to chat at the meeting, so I scheduled a phone call with him the next morning, and voila! The call was super casual and easy flowing, probably because I had already met him face to face the day before. I wanted to write about this for 2 reasons: 1) I'm excited to share a mini-victory, and 2) I wanted to share my thoughts on finding investors. All of the techniques DG talks about work, but some work better than others depending on the area. However, one strategy can minimize wasted time, and that strategy is GOING TO REI CLUB MEETINGS! They can be an efficient use of your time because if it's a good club, it's an investor magnet. Why not go to a room filled with active investors looking for other investors to work with? I'm not saying give up on Bandit Signs, ghost ads, etc. They work too, I just think it's important to focus your energy on strategies that bring results, and my REI Club meeting showed me some!!!
