Calling my first "for rent"

Too easy.

Today I saw a for rent sign on a vacant commercial property. Two buildings 6,500sq/ft. with some bay doors surrounded by a fence. Great road frontage on a major road in a booming area.

For the practice, I decided to call and ask a few questions. I wasn't scared but I was unsure. I asked if he might be interested in selling? "NO, not at this time. So I asked how much he was renting it for. He said it had been at $4,500/mo but with the economy, he would accept $4,000/mo with a two year lease. I said it sounded quite fair.

So I told him I am a REI and come across buyers, sellers and renters and I have a knack and a marketing strategy for finding some great deals. "By the way, if I come across someone to rent your property, what would you be willing to pay me as a finders fee?"

He told me they had it listed before with little results but the agreement was for the first months rent. HELLO!!! That's $4,000. Maybe I will or not be able to find someone along the way but at least I know to be talking about it...RIGHT?

Just one little tip from the program and no/nada/zip out of pocket.

Thanks Dean and DG family.

Seriously I can't believe it has only been 8 days.

I have been out twice with my realtor, have received email invitations from lenders, gotten set-up with foreclosure clearance houses, set-up an LLC, secured a web site, made offers on two properties a found someone who wants to partner with me for my credit while putting up their cash.

Sound good, well it took the decision to make this career change and the determination to just get started. I have read more in the last month than I had in the two years prior and I simply run out of day as i have a burning desire for knowledge. In fact I am hungrier for knowledge than the money.

Well if you read this...........stay tuned....
I'm looking for my volleyball named Wilson but will be writing again soon.
