Hitting disappointment block, opening another door

First, I will continously remind myself not to give too much time and effort to a client with very specific, demanding specifications.

I had been helping this one client I found through Craigslist with researching for a home. I had been on this assignment for about five weeks now. When I finally found two potential properties of interest, I get the call and he politely tells me that he has hired a real estate agent that specializes in "VA" purchases. He expressed his appreciation for my efforts and apologized for doing this to me since he knew I had been working hard at meeting his demands. I put on my professional and success personality and wished him well.

Lesson learned. Never go out of your own realms to begin customizing services for a sale. You will invest a lot of time and effort that may cause you other great deals and customers.

As I felt extremely disappointed, I told myself it was one setback, but that other doors would open. This morning, I found an e-mail that resulted from a Craigslist positing I placed about two weeks ago advertising for a call to cash investors. I'll follow this lead with the portfolio I currently have.

30 Days to Real Estate Cash

I just received my Edge 2011 package and am reading through the 30 Days to Real Estate Cash book. I started the book this morning and I'm already on page 47. I already have many of the recommended techniques in place. I'll continue to read to see how I can expedite my deals.
