ok, so I went to 2 open houses this afternoon, mainly to introduce myself to rea's. (I've been on the dg.com website since Aug. of 2011...if you are new, please don't wait this long to take action. I just took longer because I had to work up the courage and belief that I could do this.) The first rea is a Keller Williams agent...she was new...only been employed by them for about a month. That was good, because then I could "practice". Anyway, instead of handing her one business card, I handed all 4 of my business cards by mistake! LOL! She laughed and thought nothing of it. I got her business card also.
Then I went to the 2nd open house and spoke with a more seasoned rea. When I gave her my card, she said "Oh ok" and asked me what I wanted to do. I just told her that I wanted to buy fix and flip. She began to tell me that it wouldn't work in this area right now, but then she asked if I had been to so & so street and another street because they were doing it over there or something to that effect. When she asked me what my turnover needs to be, I just said that I wasn't really sure yet...because I wasn't really sure what she was asking. Anyway, she said one investor she works with only wants properties if he can make $25,000 or more. So THEN I knew what she was talking about...duh! So I told her that I need to make a little less than that. She told me she would put me in her database. Anyway, at least I got some experience talking to real estate agents.
It took every ounce of courage I could muster to do this...I even took a TUMS to settle my stomach before I went. LOL!
I'm rewarding myself by watching "The Good Wife" tonight...LOL!
bump
Instead of watching the Good Wife, I spent 2 hours on the phone with Liberty Kat talking about REI...then spoke w/her again tonight for another 2 hours. She's a great motivator...thanks Liberty Kat!
P.S. By posting this blog I'm also trying to knock off some of the spam that is showing up.

the second agent you spoke to... that's the kind of agent you want on your team!!! you have any idea of how many investors have to call and search to find someone like that?!
Now build your buyers list, and when you get a good property from your agent, lock it up, and offer it to your buyers!
That is great that you are networking with other investors; it will help you get through your obstacles!
Wishing you success,
Valerie
hey Valerie!
Yeah, the second agent seemed to be investor-friendly. I def. need to build buyers list now...waited too long. I'm going to employ my son (who doesn't know this yet...lol!) and get him to help me finish my signs and put them out. He's 23 yrs. old and is out of a job, so I might as well put him to work! Plus, I want him to learn this business.
Hey-I saw your pic on facebook on Tammy Reoch's page...she & I just became "friends" on facebook...anyway, it's great to put a pic w/a name! It's inspirational to see all of ya'll having such a good time together. I wanna do that! So, I've got to get my butt in gear and get goin!
