Hi have found a property that is vacant and after visiting the town hall found that it was foreclosed upon. I called the lender and was transferred to 6 different people who all transferred me to other people. Does anyone have a number for the bank of america reo department or countrywide reo dept? I would like to try and negotiate with the bank before it hit's the MLS.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Lori

Have you tried calling their customer service and giving them the previous owner's name and parcel number for property? You can ask for them to connect you with right person. If you contact a Real estate agent they maybe able to tell you whether and who its listed with or if it has already been sold. Here's a link http://realestatecenter.bankofamerica.com/RePortal/PreferredBroker.aspx to BOA real estate page. There's no contact number directly to reo manager they tend to keep their phone numbers undisclosed to avoid them receiving so many calls.

That post will be taken down by admin very quickly. They don't allow posting phone numbers and email addresses. You could put a post saying you have the number and if anyone needs it to PM you.
By the way, welcome to the site! You will enjoy it very much and learn alot if you take advantage of it.

The house I live in right now I bought after negotiating with the VP of REO's for a huge financing company out of California. I started with a local rep and continued to ask for the decision maker. Some time the decision maker is a single person, sometimes a committee. You don't need to go all the way to the top, however be persistent! If you find that you're getting the runaround, ask specifically to speak with the brach REO rep or manager of the loss mitigation department.

We sold our house back in May of this year. The amount due to Bank of America was fully paid and, while we had received a letter threatening foreclosure, it never went into foreclosure. We requested a short sale, but it never got to that either, as we were able to work a deal with the buyer to fulfill what BoA wanted. I have been through the "system" with BoA over and over again, being transferred a zillion times. Yesterday I was told that yes, we had been in foreclosure and I would have to dispute it with the REO Dept. I have never even heard of it. Is that information I was given even true? The deal is done. They've gotten their money without any loss on their part. I just need someone with authority to help me because we cannot buy a new house until this is cleared up.
Lori: stop squandering your time and walk into the closest BofA to that property and sit down and talk with that office manager. When you're right in front of someone, it's difficult for them to shoo you off like a phone call or email. If that branch manager doesn't know, I'm sure they can find out WHILE YOU'RE THERE. Make s/he make a few calls right in front of you. That's a great point of departure.
Mmontom40: Is this showing up on any of your credit reports? Sounds like it. Take my advice to Lori and go to your closest BofA and sit down with branch manager and take it up with them. Hard to shoo someone away when they're right in front of you. I've had problems with BofA over the years and always go into my local branch because there are human beings (allegedly!). They always correct things right in front of me, although sometimes I have to go back because there was some crack in communication.
Only reason I still have accounts there is for convenience and tons of offices.
Good luck!
Best!
