I try to learn something new about real estate everyday. I am reading while putting Deans techniques into practice.

This message is not directed towards you Tammy, I am just speaking in general:
It's great to learn something new every day, but don't be paralyzed by your own wealth of knowledge!
The most important part when you are new is to learn, but when you know enough, start taking action and you will learn even more by doing. A TON of people read the books, go through this website, and maybe even go through the success academy, but they never get to work and they wonder why it's not working for them!
I schedule one day a week where I touch up on things I've forgotten about, or try to learn some new techniques.
My guide below in my signature should be at least 90% of what you need to get started, if not 100%. You can't learn everything, so don't try to before you get to work! Learn enough, then take action!
Hope that helps some people!
Nice post Tammy!
Dominic

I just believe you should always be learning especially in the direction one is going. I also know that people kept pushing me to jump in, but I didn't quite know enough to do that for my own comfort. I believe one has to eliminate some of the risks by knowing what they are actually doing. Thanks Dominic!

Hi Tammy,
I agree with you......We learn something new everyday......When we stop learning....we stop growing......and everyone of us are unique in our own way
We all have a different level of " A Comfort Zone " we all have to find that level....

I love this shadow quote! i haven't heard it before.
Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the "comfort zone". You DO KNOW that I am a BIG supporter of doing the work first! But if you don't force your way out of that "comfort zone" you will not grow.
I stayed more in that zone for longer than I should have (not wanting to put up bandit signs or make cold calls, etc) and nothing happened in my business. I was another one who wouldn't answer my phone when I got calls on my mailings or ads. I would let it go to VM and then call them back later.
This is even more ridiculous because I have worked with the public for over 40 yrs!!!! I was even a friggin' car salesman when I started doing this! So I am not shy. But I was "uncomfortable"!
So you have to do it "Uncomfortable"! Just take a deep breath, throw up and do it!!! (Sorry, but most of us, if we are honest, have just about done JUST THAT!)

I agree with you about doing the work first...
the " just force one's self to do it".....that is also true......I'm a strong believer in rolling up my sleeves, and just doing it.......but for some people it just doesn't work for them.
If a person has all the tools, and an education....no matter how hard someone pushes that person......they won't move.....maybe for fear of failure?
I think " The comfort Zone " is more a mind set.....to be able to say " Yes I Can " instead of No I can't "
Glad you like the quote: the finish is "Do not lead I may not follow, Do not follow, I may not lead Instead walk besides me as my friend " -Plutach

I know what you are saying and that is do it afraid and I agree, but I also understand what Sharon means, in that people need to reach a level they are comfortable with to proceed. I mean we don't want to be foolish and just jump in, we have to know that there are possible legal actions that could be brought against us if we are not careful in some of these endeavors. I think this is what at least I mean't by level of comfort. Like you said you hid from the phone calls. I thought I would, but although I was nervous it actually was one of the easier things for me. I guess we will have to proceed at a place that feels comfortable, although we may be afraid, However eventually we will have to "just do it", in order to progress and succeed!
