Know Your Why!

Know Your Why!

I just became a grandfather for the first time today, baby girl, born this morning. Absolutely I'm going to find a way to work that into a post on here. But this is one of the most important posts I could make.
What are your reasons in life for wanting to succeed? Being a real estate investor takes work, and we all have to become clear on why we put our money, our time, our energy and our lives on the line to do this as a business.
Making money is great, but money is just a tool, like a hammer. We use money, but it doesn't have any real intrinsic value--you can't eat it, can't wear it, can't create a car out of it--just not very useful until we exchange it for something that is useful.
So there has to be a bigger reason. A reason that is more exciting than having a pile of money. For me, a major, probably my most important reason for the real estate, writing, and natural health work that I do is creating a legacy, for my family and for others close to me. When I get up in the morning, and before going to bed at night, I take a few minutes to remember why I do the things that I do. It rejuvenates me, gives me energy, and determination. These things are my "Why" and you have your own. Use your "Why" to catapult you to higher levels of accomplishment.

Dallin

Congratulations on being a grandfather! I've been thinking about my why a lot lately. Eventually, I know that I too will become a grandmother and I want to have the time to spend with him/her and have the time to spend with my kids, who are now adults. Also, my parents are in their 80's and I want to be available for them whenever they need help. Having a J-O-B kind of gets in the way of all of that.

Congrats on becoming a grandfather.
I agree with every word on this, its a must to have your "why" and to view it or read it every day!

CONGRATULATIONS DALLIN WALL

Congratulations on becoming a grandfather. Kids are so wonderful.

Floating through life!

I remember when I found my why. She was born in May of 2010. My first little girl. Her, her new little sister, and their mommy are my "why". Just like Dallin, I want to leave a legacy for those little girls. I want them to know how to take care of themselves regardless of their employment status. Before they were here I would float through life not really caring about what the next day brought. I never thought of retirement, building a business or anything like that. In fact, all of that sounded like a lot of work. And as my parents could attest to...I've never been a fan of work. Then I found my why.

I agree with Dallin. You have to know your "why." Without it you run the risk of floating through life.

By the way, CONGRATS Dallin!
