One of the things that Dean talks about is surrounding yourself with positive people and having the right mindset to suceed. I don't have this right now , not at all.
I been working at this warehouse for just over a year and it is driving me insane. The job itself is not that bad , althoug it is very physically demanding and is 10 hour night shifts. My problem is the people and management that work there . Most of them are young , negative, and have no goals in life. I barely talk to anyone there anymore and my brain has "checked out" from that cold place.
To make things worst, I heard some trash talk about me from a few individuals. I am doing all that is in my power not to confront them but it's very hard. The only thing that keeps me from fighting is hearing Dean say "you are better then that" and his whole positive thinking mentality.
My confidence is also being ruined because I already lack some confidence and this place sucks it out of me even more. I told a few people what I am trying to do but it's like they don't even believe me. I am trying to be more sociable and improve my people skills but I don't want to do that there.
I would not be posting this in here if I don't sound desperate. I need to have a clear mind! Mt wife even believes that maybe I should let that forsaken place go. She does believe in me and is doing most of the REI studying on her own. I have a few dollars saved up to cover me for a month and I have a personal lender that can maybe help also.
We are almost ready to do assignment of contracts and maybe get a check soon. I know quiting your job is not the smartest thing to do but I just can't stand it there no more. Are you guys with me?

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!
I WILL NOT BE POOR ANYMORE!
Proud of you as all the members of this thread. Now I need to follow your lead. My job keeps taking a turn from bad to worse. Just when I think it can't get worse, it does. I have two kids to think about and thats the only reason I don't quit.
But sometimes you have to draw the line somewhere.
Anyway, I am proud of you man!!! Hope your wife is proud of you too for making that step.

-- TIME IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE, SO STOP WASTING IT --
I guess I'm to late with this post. I was going to say to keep your job for awhile until you get something going . You have to stay away from negative people, they will pull you down . My wife that i love is one of the most negative persons to talk to about my R.E. investing, so I have to stay away from her when I have a deal in the works . Good luck
Jm3201 I totally understand what you mean. My hubby is the same. Years ago I had a deal in the process and found out he was actually praying I would fail. Well needless to say when I found out I let the deal go feeling if it was stressing him that way than I didn't want it.
This is what I say. Pray daily. You will feel your inner confidence bloom and the negativity will roll off you like water on a ducks back. Also turn a negative into a positive. Make it a challenge to prove dear wifey wrong. Than by her something really sweet when you get your first deal and explain it is because of the deal you where able to do it. No I told you so's here just a hubby courting his wife. She will come around. Easier to catch bees with honey than a net. Get my drift.
Gotta remember all it is not easy for our spouses being married to dreamers. Not easy at all. Our dreams tend to take away from fam time and resources with out alot to show for it some times. We just have to understand those who truely love us our jealous for our time and attention.
Hope this helps. I know how I felt as a dreamer every time my hubby unknowingly crushed a dream. They don't mean to they are just practical worry worts that ground us from going to the moon. Be honest I am sure she has saved you from some mistake.
Flowers to wifey. Blessings to you. Keep pushing we are all here.
My husband has rarely held a regular job, and maybe it's our cheaper living, our mindset, or our God(yes, that is it i think), but we always somehow manage to get by. Live on credit at times. I have to admit, this is what drove us to change and get into real estate, but I believe if we work at it hard enough, especially in the beginning, lots of start up things and fears to overcome(as well as negative people!), we will succeed. Hang in there buddy, and focus and dream your dream while others offend you. If you have Jesus, He is always with you, just focus on Him, and He will meet you at those low places, and keep posting when you need encouragement. Oh, and I have taken to just dropping a line, like, I buy and sell houses, if you know anyone who would be interested, let me know, and leave an air of mystery without detail unless I know they are truly interested, and not mocking. Do not worry, they are talking trash about you cause they can't stand to see anyone stepping out of the box and possibly succeeding, cause they are jealous they aren't. But they probably won't try either, it feels better to them, they justify their lack by trashing you. Chin up, look towards heaven. No limit. Tina
