OfflineHello all,, I saw a FSBO on craigs list today and it was for a property, in a town that is about 10 miles from my residence. The ad had a picture of a house fully redone, for only $40,000 with a email address and an out of the country phone number....so it sparked my interest....anyways to keep this short,,an unknown person emailed me and told me the he or she is living in the UK, and need to sell their house in the US to start a business in the UK,, this person wanted me or whoever to send a $5,000 deposit before they sent over the contracts...
I was born at night but not last night...smells like a scam to me.
Please everyone..Don't ever send money to anyone you dont know please...not even one dollar!!!
Con artists are good don't fall victom to a scam!!
Also. I went on to the city's on line data base.. and the address that this person put in the add..there is no such address...!!
What doesn't kill me,,makes me stronger!
I'd report it immediately and it will be flagged for removal.

Thanks for putting others on notice; I forget exactly "how" but you can send Craig's webmaster or Admin a msg with Ad id number for that ad to report it to them that's a scam. Hopefully they'll alert the appropriate authorities, remove the ad and ban that person from Craigslist entirely for life. Yeah keep a look out for those kind Ads and other local ads where person say they might own the home they're trying to rent or they're the landlord asking for security deposit from prospective tenants. Do your due diligence everyone to find out who exactly owns the property they're mentioning in their ads and have a note pad handy to write down their vehicle tag numbers (always arrive before they do) when you go to view a property in case something goes down. Take a partner or friend! Stay safe out there!
