A Tip of the Day, to help get you on your way!

A Tip of the Day, to help get you on your way!

Dean’s books are packed with great information, strategies, techniques and tips to help all of us with our real estate investing. As we develop our plan and take action, we have come up with other helpful tips that could help others.

As I have read the forums, I have found a lot for great information and tips provided by the DG Members. Thus, I thought what better way to try to summarize tips for DG Members. Most of us have created a routine or come up with a great idea that has helped us along the way. Thus, if you can share an idea or a tip for other DG investors in this forum that would be great!

TIP OF THE DAY:

Get all your paperwork organized each week. Go through your information and create a filing system for all your information. The yellow 10 x 12 envelopes and a Rubbermaid container with a lid can get you started with a basic filing system. A little organization will go a long way especially once the deals start rolling in.

Good luck on all your real estate deals! Believe and Achieve! Smiling – Joe

Please share your tip of the day?

Self Directed IRA

Hi all,

I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with either "Entrust" or "Equity" trust. Equitys' fee's look like they're lower-?, but both companies are suppose to be able to offer SELF DIRECTED IRA's .... Not sure if anyone can give me feedback. I have an old 401K that desperatly needs to have new life breathed into it.. Eye-wink

Thanks,
hmfit4u

Hi Joe,

I agree being organized from the get go is important. Thanks for your tips.

I like paperwork to be organized but don't like organizing things (it's tedious) so I make it a priority to stay on top of it. I've even gone as far as writing down procedures for those many details that take many steps so I don't leave anything out. I have excel spread sheets set up for expenses, mileage, etc. and update them on a regular basis. At tax time it will be a breeze. Keeping up with it on a regular basis keeps it from turning into a big task later.

Drive your neighborhood and look for those deals!

Have you got in the car this weekend and spent an hour or so driving your neighborhood looking for real estate deals? They could be listed with a realtor, listed as a FSBO or just a neglected home on a block with long grass and over grown hedges. Well, the weekend is not over just yet. Make sure you spend a little time today for your future investing tomorrow and good luck in finding those deals! Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

Marketing

Very informative Joe. Holding and or flipping properties are also important to real estate investing success. The use of multiple websites in marketing properties will reach a wider population and allow for quick responses. God Bless.
