I've come to realization that in this game of being a real estate investor that one must sometimes be willing to make(what at the time may seem big)small sacrifices in order to succeed. For many of us here 'money' is a very scarce thing that we can afford to use towards our investing careers. A lot of us have a very tight budget that we need to stick to in order to make it from week to week. We have family to support and take care of as well as bills the endlessly roll in from out of nowhere. No matter how we seem to look at it, we just can't seem to get ahead no matter what we do it seems. Well I've concluded that no matter what i do in life, that I'll continue have bills of some sort coming in(everyone has their hands out for your money somewhere) and that if.....just if one week i decided to use that bill money and make a tiny investment into what could become the biggest investment of my life and put me on my way to financial independence, then I can afford just once to ignore that bill for that month and invest in my future. Well that's how some people look at it, but for others, they just look at the money that they have invested as a big waste and begin to be afraid that their small investment will turn sour and so their main focus is still on that small investment they made, not the BIG picture ahead. No matter what one decides to do financially, that little bit of money will come back to you in a very short period of time and the rewards will be well worth the investment(s)10 fold. You've just got to get out of the rut of thinking "Short-Term" and think more "Long-Term" and you'll find that the way you see your current situation will be in a whole new light. Just venting a bit and trying to enlighten others.
God Bless all!

We all have bills that have to be paid each money. Do not get all worked up about it. You will have to make some tough choices in order to realize you goal. I am sure we all have a stories we could tell. I am a single mother with two sons in college, doing it all on my own. I made tough choices: cut off the cell phone; deprived myself of a laptop; cut off the movie channel on my cable; take breakfast and lunch to work everyday; budgeted my spending habit and I could list many more. I am not where I will like to be yet, but I am sure getting there with no regrets. Making the sacrifices today will pay off tomorrow. Networking is key to success. Go online and listen to others speak about how they made it happen, regular visit to our DG site will continue to motivate you to act. You have the ability to do this, but it will not happen if you do not put your plans into action. We are rooting for you here, let's go. Happy Holidays and God Bless.

This wasn't about me and my sacrifices(lol). It was pertaining to a partner with whom I just got out of a partnership contract with. It's a learning experience(but what isn't). Believe me, I know about the sacrifices, because I constantly am making them, but yet still managing to keep my goals in focus.
Happy Holidays to you and yours as well!

Sometimes we form partnerships, some may be successful and others fail. As you said, this is a learning experience. You will be stronger after this. Things do not always work out the way we want them too, but life goes on. You will get there, just keep God at the forefront of your desired goals and continue to put your plans into action. We are hear to support you on this journey. All the best. God Bless.

I have always admired her story and what she has done to overcome. Sandra is a superstar in my eyes.....Jan
You know we go way back. Just being on this site, I have acquired tremendous knowledge from, Dean, Jan, Jeremy, Rina, Anita, Elena, Joe, Matt, Lubertha, Marc and many others. My life has not been a walk in the park. I was a slow starter in real estate investing, but I have always been honest with myself and shared it to enlighten others. I have been through the ringers, divorce, surgeries, debt, foreclosure, and the list is so much more. I refuse to let anything keep me back. Every time I fall, I get up, dust myself off and continue the journey. It is all about being resilient, knowing what you want in life and going all the way. We have a job to do and we must get it done. 2010 is the year as Joe said of the DG students. God Bless.

I just wanted you all to know that through all of these trials and tribulations for me over the course of the time that I've been doing this that you all have been MY inspiration to keep persevering, no matter what. I know that all obstacles that I encounter are just puzzles to be solved. We'll one sure thing is that at least I keep gaining the knowledge that I need from both the bad and good of it all. Just makes me that much more resilient in the long run. It also opens ones eyes more to those who just wish to ride ones tail coat for a free lunch in this business as well. Again, thank you all for being here for me. I won't ever forget you!
Sincerely,
Bryant

Hello family, I know this post is a little old but it's new to me and I'm glad I read it. My wife and I were just talking about the same subject. I feel in my heart that I can do this but I'm still a little afraid to make the necessary sacrifice and come out of my "comfort zone". I can't afford the "success academy" and I know that no one can hold my hand through all I must do. So I say thank you for this post, it reminded me that I'm tired of being where I am and need to get where I'm suppose to be. I've been thinking about starting a journal if for no one else than for myself to keep track of my progress and to keep me moving forward. At the same time though I may be able to help someone else as my journey to my first successful deal unfolds. For me also are the badges that are awarded when you gain experience. I want those badges! They may not seem like a lot to some but, I see them as something significant that shows accomplishment. My hats off to all of you that have gain them and for what it's worth, keep up the good work. I look forward to being among you one day. I ask all who read this post that I am writing, read my daily journal and offer whatever advise you can that will assist me. Keep me accountable, I will be thankful and will respond to all. thank you again.
