New to the site

Welcome Hitman to the DG family.. I believe this is one of the best investments you can make in you life. I'm fairly new to Real Estate Investing, but believe without a shadow of a doubt, its my way to financial freedom. I'm enrolled with SA and think its beneficial to a newbie like myself. I love the format. You learn at your own pace. If you can afford it, do it. If not, read Dean's book.. get on this site everyday and read... then TAKE ACTION!!!.. If you respect "the process for progress".. put in the time, effort and get educated.. the sky is truly the limit.. I'm 24.. working a 9-5.. looking at my co-workers twice my age.. telling myself.. "There has to be something better and where I can make more money".. I'm grateful for my job.. but this right here.. is the way out.. go to "Dean's Media" along the left side and watch the videos of "ordinary people doing extraordinary" things.. Be committed and you will see results...

Welcome. I was curious about the SA scoop also when I first hit DG's boards. I don't have the exact link, but if you search Success Academy in the search field, top left, there are one or two extensive threads with lots of feedback from members new and old about what they thought about it, if it was worth it, and if one can succeed with out it. Check it out. It was great insight.

It's a great start by posting your questions on the forum for everyone to see and comment.
I joined the SA a few weeks after I joined this site; from my experience, I would wholeheartedly advice you not to join if you cannot afford it; or at least wait a few months while you learn and absorb all the information from DG's books and this site. Read from the threads until you get familiar with the strategies, and the regulars here.
I have learned so much by just taking action, and asking questions here; look for a real estate investors club in your area, and join! Before you attend, get some business cards made so that you can trade them at the meetings. Talk to people there; meet other investors; they are always happy to mentor new investors if you're willing to put in the time and effort.
After you get your feet wet, and make some money in rei, then I would suggest joining the Success Academy, because it will be easier for you to make 5 deals and get your money refunded!

I'll look for some great threads and post them here later so you can read some of them...

I have been investing off and on for twelve years, and I made many expensive mistakes in the beginning and I only wish I had joined something like deans Success Academy back then. I could have lost less and made a ton more.

The best thing you can do is join the Success Academy so you can avoid the pitfalls that await you. Just ask the Office Team about all of the guarantees they have in place. You can not loose.

Even with my experience I recently joined the Success Acadamy so I have all of Deans best people answer my toughest questions.

I'm in the Success Academy and know that there are coaches with different types of personalities. Don't let this one person discourage you.
I've encountered the same thing and decided to go ahead with the Success Academy about 6 weeks later after my initial interview.
I couldn't have asked for a better coach than the one I have now. He's not the same one that I originally spoke with.
If you decide to join and you end up getting somebody that you're not compatible with, just ask for a different coach.

One more thing, not all sales reps are coaches and vice versa.

Welcome to the DG family. Unemployment and a new baby can take a toll on you. It is the time where you have to know if it is financially sound to join the Academy, since you will have to be committed to making your installments payments. I will strongly suggest that you invest in purchasing the books and work from there. There is also a wealth of information on site that will provide the necessary tools you need to proceed. You have done the first and best thing, reaching out to the best investing social network. Enjoy and God Bless.

The success academy is definitely worth it, but if you can't afford it right now, then the books will work + all the free info and support that you can get from on this website is crucial. At some point I would look for your local REIA (real estate investors association) and through that organization find a mentor in your area. Also listen to the conference calls with Dean and his special guests talking about the business...one of the many calls that stuck with me was the call from 3/1/2011 with Dean and Matt Larson.
