When I click on the "classified ads" links to the left, I notice that there are a few people that are offering loans of $5,000 - $500,000 at 5% interest. Has anyone tried one of these out? Is this for real? Seems to good to be true.
I sent one of them an email and they replied asking for some basic information such as name, address, phone number, etc. The thing that is skeptical to me is that the company is from Trinidad & Tobago. I have seen stuff like this before where these people just want some information to pull a scam or use your identity.
If that is the case and they are trying to pull some kind of scam, why would they be allowed to advertise on this site? After reading the rules/regulations of Dean's site, the rules are strict and it seem like they would not tolerate that kind of stuff.
I appreciate any response. thx
James,
just because they are on this site does not make them legitimate.
Ask them for their name, address, phone number, website, etc. check their business with the the BBB; ask them for references. If they are legitimate and want your business they will be happy to provide all that and more...
Always do your due dilligence.
wishing you success,
valerie

I am direct to the VP of a $100 million dollar open-ended debt and equity fund which actively writes checks to fund businesses with an EBITDA of at least $1 million a year. We fund also have access to up to $500,000,000 for the purchase of distressed real estate, specially commercial $7,500,000 and up.
I saw that ad in the classified as well. I have requested information and references from this company. I now await to see if I shall receive a reply. The ad is so tempting, so with any company you should check it out. I will keep you posted on any reply.
Just all the grammatical errors in the ad alone are a big flag!

I have been on this site for just about 3 yrs now, so I suppose you could say I am somewhat of a veteran. We have watched many scammers attempt to come into our world and exploit some of our newer members. Many of the scammers have been exposed due to some of us watching and questioning them. But a Good rule to follow is if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
There are plenty of good reputable HML and PMI out there, you just have to spend the time to find them and qualify them...Jan
Thanks for all of the quick responses. The one that I looked into seemed very sketchy to me so I told them that I was no longer interested. Since then, I have found a local HML located in downtown Boston. I wrote to them today and will check on them a bit more. It's so close to me that I could even schedule a meeting with them. Thanks again everyone!!
Has anyone worked with a good HML and could recommend one to me?
