I just finished watching a video from Andrea (and Chip) about having a power team and she suggested starting a journal on DG.com. I think that is a great idea as I have learned from so many others on this site and maybe by me sharing my progress, I will help or inspire others to take action. I have had such a desire to be a part of something bigger and DG.com is part of that. So here is my story so far.
I bought 2 of Dean's books "Be A Real Estate Millionaire" and "Profit From Real Estate Right Now" back in 2009. I did nothing with them when they came in the mail but let them sit in their boxes for two years. I kick myself now. I finally picked them up in the Spring of 2012 and finished reading them in a few weeks. I joined the DG website and started watching the weekly wisdom videos and checking out other success stories. I started writing down some goals. I was all excited and really felt like I could do this. Then I let life get in the way. But I did manage to attend my local REI club a couple times and started talking to real estate agents about finding deals with the 25:1 strategy.
Two weeks ago I attended Dean's free seminar in Salt Lake City and signed up for the 3-Day Insider's Financial workshop. I picked up Dean's book "30 Days to Real Estate Cash" and started reading it this week in preparation for the workshop. Things are in motion. I understand my WHY, I have a 30-day goal of doing one deal with positive cash flow or a minimum of $5K profit. I have my 12 month goals and I have been calling real estate agents all week interviewing them to find the right one. I have my county maps and I'm honing in on the hot spots with the help of some of these real estate agents.
My 3-day workshop started yesterday and I'm more motivated than ever to do my first deal. I've shared all this with my girlfriend who happens to live in a different state and she is fully supportive of my desires and efforts and I'm surrounding myself with positive people who I know will help me get to the next level. Life is good and I'll report back tomorrow after day three of the workshop to report on what action I took!

Wow, ur books sat in the box for 2 yrs? I thought I was the king of procrastination, but u got me beat. I watch Dean's video and I get so pumped up and I've read his books several times. Im glad ur jumping in this. Let's make some MONEY Rando1.
Oh, a few yrs ago I started a procrastination club, me and the potential members couldnt decide when to have our first meeting. We kept putting it off.
I also purchased a book on how to improve my memory, I can't remember where I put it.
I read a report that 99% of the population suffers from apathy, but, who cares.

Completed the 3-Day workshop and got a lot of great information and met some great people. I chose not to purchase the advanced training offered, but I'm still 100% committed to this and will do my first deal within 30 days to get the money back that I paid for the 3-day workshop. What I learn from this first deal will carry over to the next deal.
- Spent 1 hour looking thru the detailed listings that one of my realtors sent me. Narrowed it down from 20 to 5 to make offers on.
- Spent 1 hour looking online at other properties
- Ordered business cards
- set-up 800 number
- Found a great resource for short term lending from a DG member (Thanks reinvestor42)
- Created flyers to post in grocery stores, laundry mats, gym,and other places
