Isaiah's Journal

Isaiah's Journal

Recently I purchased Dean’s book “Be a Real Estate Millionaire” over the phone. I am a 19 year old college student and I’ve been reading material on real estate and financial intelligence since I was about 17. I got a call from someone offering me the one on one coaching if I could pay a down payment of 600 dollars. I am very eager and hungry to take advantage of today’s market but I am having a hard time whether or not to invest this 600 bucks for one on one training. My head tells me go ahead and do it because it’s worth it in the long run so I believe it would be the right step for me. My issue is I guess giving up some of my personal items to get the 600 bucks. This may sound childish to most people here because I’m young. It’s just a major decision for me to leave old ways like playing video games or buying expensive cloths to sell it all for the one on one training. I just want to hear from someone who has purchased the one on one training or has the same problem as me. I would like someone to talk to so I can ask questions about when they purchased the program. I know the right decision is to purchase the program but its hard for me to make that step.

Hey, Isaiah.

Welcome to the DG family. Good to have you here. Smiling

I can sure appreciate the maturity of your taking the REI step at 19. I'm sure you would NOT regret giving up what you can to invest the $600 in your future. Of course it's your choice, but I would like to encourage you. It will just put you THAT much farther ahead, and just think where you may be by next year! I know it's been a blessing for me.

I wish you the best and all the success you deserve. Keep us posted. Smiling

Rina

I Took That Step

I made what I believe was a wise decision and I enrolled into Deans mentoring program. Today I spoke with a coach for the first time and after some conversation we decided my focus now will be getting income through Finders Fees. In a few hours when I wake I'm going to do all I can to make a list of investors in my area. If anyone has any experience with finders fees I would greatly appreciative it.

Welcome Isaiah,

Give yourself a pat on the back you took a giant step to your future of freedom.

Don't look back and you may have to change friends and social surroundings so that you are not overtaken with negative feedback.

My First Steps Of Action

I am working on finders fees so yesterday I took the time out to build a buyers list. I searched the internet for sites with realtors in my location and surrounding areas with the intentions of contacting them. I am faithful that soome of them are investors or know investors that are interested in someone to do Finders Fees for them or assigning contracts. I have check craigslist.org zilliow.com and trulia.com. I also did a few realty sites and this morning Ill be picking up a newpaper. I have found at least 1000 realtors in my area and areas that surround me. Also I have found about 8 clubs in resonable distance from my location. I play on attending a few meetings to find investors there as well. If anyone has any tips I am always open. Thank you God Bless

First Step

Well thats good you have made that move, but i'm going to have to find a little more infomation about what i need to do. Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The investor I found is actually a realtor as well. I found him by looking up hundreds of realtors in my area and surrounding areas on the internet. Ways to locate investors vis internet area craigslist.org, backpage.com, trulia.com, zillow.com, and reiclub.com. reiclub.com is good for finding clubs in your area. If you find a club you can go and actually present yourself to investors and tell them you will find them properties. Also check your local newspapers investors sometimes post adds. You can also post ads that you will find investment properties for a minimal for any investor. Post ads on craigslist and in teh Sunday paper. Another great idea I though I should try is to contact contractors, rehabbers, and landscapers in my area. I believe they will be able to link me to investors who has worked with them. The only method Ive done so far is making calls to realtors. It took me 8 calls to find 1 investor. 2 out of the 8 realtors had bad attitudes and about 4 didnt pick up. Its a process Ive noticed to build the buyers list but when your determined to find those investors you will find them stay strong and remember you can make anything happen. I believe you will be finding one soon! God Bless from a 19 year old investor.

More Success

Today I spent some time in the library and built my buyers list even more. I added 5 investors so now I have a total of 6 investors on my list. I am saying this to tell everyone that taking action really works. I set my mind on building my buyers list and I MADE it happen. Get up and do it guys. Anything is possible so get out there and make deals happen!!! God Bless from a young investor.

I have gotten some success too.

Guys i found and called up 4 investors. That all were willing to except deals.
One left some specifics as to what area he prefers and ares he doesnot want. But all said as long as its a good deal and there is no major repairs like a cracked foundation or something like that, I should give them a call. Just have all the numbers and specifics of the deal, so they can decide what they wonna do. So now I am looking for some good deals to pass off. I did all i needed to do get to this point in a week. ALong with my own research and self learning. One investor actually spoke to me for about 15 min, bout all kinds of stuff off the topic and told me about a meeting I should come to locally where there will be all kinds of investors there that I can talk to, ask questions, and buld my list of investors. So she told to be sure to come. Its a club in my area. So that worked out for me. I plan to lock in 2 deals this month. Sorry for the long story guys and ladies....

What a learning experience

Hello all!! I havnt been on in a few days because Ive been all around the area searching for great deals. I am extremely faithful that VERY soon I will be assigning my first contract. It is truly a learning experience as I speak with different realtors and investors around the area. I found one great deal but someone beat me to it. I used it as a learning experience and something to boost my confidence. As of now Im still on the great search for that great deal. I know its right around the corner.
