OfflineThis is not me at all. I am not the type to go posting my information online for people that I don't know. I know we are the "DG Family", but this is totally out of my element and that is why I am doing this. I just came from the EDGE event and it was SOOOO FREAKIN exciting to be around like minded people again. Jen Gray said in order to be successful in Real Estate you must be comfortable with being uncomfortable. So this is why I am starting my Journal. I attended last years EDGE event had a contract and wasn't able to assign it. That discouraged me and when I started to attempt to put in offers in So. Cal. where I live; there were multiple offers and they weren't accepting anymore offers on a lot of the properties. That discourage me some more, but I knew I was just going to have to get another strategy. The EDGE event was all I needed. I am not going to give up, I am going to live the life that I deserve, and I am going to succeed in R.E. I am starting my journal so I can be accountable for the things that I say that I am going to do. Journal and success here I come!!!!!!!

I realized that I hadn't posted in my journal in a week. This has been one tought week. We experienced an unexpected lost of a loved one. I am pushing through and encouraging myself, being my own motivator. I am determined to have a better life on earth!!! I am determined to have my loved ones see me succeed!! Life is too short to be unhappy. I am putting in my hours and working on my !!!!! I will not give up until I have victory in my life!!!

keeping a journal here will help you stay focused and motivated; and trust me, I know what you mean when you say that writing here for everyone to see is so out of your comfort zone! I've been there! But if you start writing regularly, before you know it, you will look forward to writing in your journal!
and that's how it is with everything else that you do in rei; after you get a few rejections, they will start rolling off your back... and always think of what Randy said: the more 'no's' you get, the closer you're getting to a 'yes'!!!

I have been putting in my hours in Real Estate, making sure I do at least 10-15 hrs a week. If I have some business to take care of that is going to keep me away from home for a while, I am bringing my laptop with me and making sure I'm putting in my real estate hours.
I had my breaking point when I read the post by one of DG's superstars saying:
PEOPLE WILL NOT CHANGE UNTIL THE PAIN OF NOT CHANGING IS GREATER THAN THE PAIN OF CHANGING! This inspirational quote brought tears to my eyes, because my pain is great, my WHY is great and I don't give a FLIP what others think!! I'm not scared anymore to call people, answer my phone, & now I'm handing out my business cards at the bank and nail salon and letting people know that they can earn some extra cash by referring someone to me.
My husband and family know what I am doing and they even bring me addresses when they walk home from school sometimes (because I give the a little bonus).
I am a real estate investor, this is my life and this is what I love doing. MY DEAL IS COMING, AND I AM A DAY CLOSER TO MY DEAL AND MANY MORE!

I'm writing in my journal because I haven't written in a while. It get's really frustrating trying to get your first deal. I already read 30 days to fast cash, but now I'm going to go back and do it step by step. I'm not going to give up! I am determined to have the life that I was meant to have!!!

I'm still working on my first deal now partnering up with some I.E. members. I'm not going to give up because I know my deal is on the way. I've been putting in more hours and am determined to get my first deal.

This is hard work but rewarding, do not despair keep at it.
I am in the same boat as you are, no deals yet. I encourage you to read Matt Larsons journal, he used write under CBR power, I accidentally found some portion of his journal and learnt what length he would go to realize his goal of make it in real estate investing. It is profound. next on should be Carol Stinston journal.
