No I am not in the chicago area. I am from there though. My fam is still out there. Hoping to visit in June. We should hook up.

I have been contacting brokers and getting negative responses. Also contact a mortgage broker with more of the same. I really want to get into commercial re but it is seeming almost impossible. Looked up local re on the county site and found that alot of activity took place in the early 2000's. Kinda makes me feel behind the 8 ball. Also having a hard time focusing. Well gotta go son is demanding lunch.

Hello. I am editing these post that I accidently added twice. Well the only thing I can think of to keep me on track is to create a plan. What do you think? Or am I just kicking tires and the best thing to do is just submit offers till my fingers bleed?

P.S. There are so many differant courses out there and I swear each time I see one I want it feel I need it. I am thinking I am actually distracting myself from the goal. Advice techniques you use to keep focused. All advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the DG family, glad to have you here. Sounds like you and I have many similarities. I'm a single mom and my son-in-law is going to be deployed soon so I know exactly how you feel. My daughter is expecting her first child, she is constantly worried about him and home alone frequently. I will include your husband with my son-in-law's prayers. These brave men deserve our constant prayers and thanks for the difficult job they've taken upon themselves.

Whatever you do, don't give up on your dreams. I tell myself daily "if it is to be, it is up to me". I say that b/c my family is known for settling and giving up on their dreams. Just allowing life to kick them around. But I truly believe that I can change my families legacy if I just continue to follow my dreams and believe in the power that God has given me. I was looking at another journal and it was a timeline. That is my current plan is to sit down this weekend and get mine a little clearer.

I am working to start in the Dean Success Aca. by June/July. Things are looking up for my family and I am excited.

I will be praying for your family and thank you so much for your support. Let your daughter know I feel her pain and to turn off the news. When my husband was over seas it was the beginning of the war and the tv was blotted with impressions of all the horrible stuff going on over there. Truth be told when he came home he told me half of that stuff wasn't accurate. So I spent agonizing hours and sleepless nights worried needless. Also most of our men and women are behind lines. With people in specialized areas being actually involved in the confrontation. I speak as a prior Marine and as a Spouse. Good luck on your indevers. I am going to keep you and yours in my prayers.

I thank you about your advice. I think you are right. I plan on spending this weekend creating a plan as well. Maybe we can swap our post our plans look them over and give each other opinions. This way we can spot the week points. I see you are a family women as well. Tell all I said hi. Hi Ericka,
It is always great when a new member comes on board. I could identify with you in many ways. I have also incurred a lot of debt, financing my two sons in college. They both work now for 6 hours per week, from 20. It facilitates little things that they need. like you, I know RE with turns things around for me. Certain situations have put me at a disadvantage of acquiring a mortgage and other investment opportunities. I refuse to let negativity keep me down. I am vigilantly paying down my credit cards and doing so like always on time. I have made a huge dent, but not enough to my liking. I have done some strategic financial planning, and I am seeing the light coming through for me. Ericka, you have laid your cards on the table, and identified what needs to be done, I am confident you will get it done. Give my regards to the family. It is so funny how many times in a day I say " It is Erika with a K". I would love to swop Plans, road maps with you. I am working on my as we speak. Today my plan is to contact some of the "We buy houses" numbers I have collected from bandit signs. I am working on my investors/buyers list, I want to start bird-dogging in the next 30 days.

Okay maybe just a small one. I finally found a broker I am willing to deal with. Explained my intentions and the fact that I am a new investor. She seems to be gong ho. We have set up a telephone conferance for next week to get things started. We have similar interest. So we will see. For now I am still working on a plan to have me totally focused. Also using my blackberry to keep my life running smoothly. I am also planning on using it as my get your butt in gear. If I break my plan down into simple day to day steps I can program them into my phone and keep myself on track and get everything done. (Remember the 5 kids:)
