Suggestion for a forum category?

Suggestion for a forum category?

I was hoping to address this to DGadmin, and wasn't sure how to do this, but I noticed in the early days of this site you took suggestions for things.

We have the REI Clubs/Groups section, why not make a Referral section where we can create groups in specific geographical areas or cities to refer people or ask for references for good power team members? I thought this would be a good idea because the power of referrals is an amazing networking tool in of itself and if we have found a wonderful person to work with and they are helping us, there is no better gift to give them than a referral.

I know I take so much time trying to find good people for my team and thought it might be a resourceful tool for anyone here, especially if we could streamline it by area in categories we make. Trying to figure out ways to maximize the time resource. What do you think? Or is this what the Local networking category is officially for?

good idea

I have often wondered about this myself. It would be great to have people to talk to or email about people they know wants to invest or knows of someone else that can give some names. I have talked to some people here in the midwest and outside the midwest and there is some interest but my area is kind of small and RE doesn't move very fast here. I will have to go to Des Moines, St. Louis or Chicago but have transportation problems right now. I also am interested in an RE investment club in Des Moines that may have some motivated buyers and sellers. There is some interest here, I just have to find the right area and find the right people. I hope more people get on this thread and start give ideas and names. Another good way to get motivated people would be go to google and type in free classified adds you could find some people that way. Also find the RE wanted section and look up some people that way.

TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Super Genius...

Great idea because I normally only deal with referrals for several reasons

1. Holds them more accountable(Most important to me. No one normally wants to burn a bridge with someone they've worked with and to look bad or be made a fool for vouching for someone is a great way to lose a client)

2. Less stress of having to find someone

The only thing I would recommend to anyone that is referring is that you only refer someone you have closed a deal with. Not "we got to the table and it fell through...." so we got close.

I highly recommend that people just starting out to use this method in the beginning of their ventures.
