I was an agent for 3 years and know what agent do and how they think. I have networked and worked alongside lenders and understand their process. Now that I’m a real estate investor I’m now in line to make paths where there were no roads. I have been around and continue to surround myself with people of business and real estate investing.

I am so glad to find another DGer in my area. A real estate agent, to boot, is a bonus. I am thinking that it would be great to put together our own local DGer network. I am looking for fellow members around the greater Seattle area interested in meeting to share resources, ideas, wisdom, anything that someone else may find helpful. I have no doubt that all have something of value to bring to the table.
I have been in touch with a couple others on here about this and one is on board. Just waiting to hear back from the other. I have a short list of others to contact. Anyone that you think may be interested please spread the word. I am wondering if maybe we should open the invitation to non DG students as well. Any thoughts on this I would appreciate.

I ordered these in Dec. 2010 ~ it took me a while to pickup the books, but when I did, I couldn't put them down. It took maybe 2 weeks to read both books and I usually don't like reading books.
I hope they help give you some great ideas to try, too.

Ideas for marketing and lead generation came out of it.
I emailed out some great scripts to use and they work great with sellers and landlords.

The market is and has changed, I met with a lender today and buyers are not qualifying anymore. Not because they can't afford it but because banks are making it harder.
So, the Investors have to be creative and solve problems.
People will pay you to fix their problems.
The bigger the problem the more people will pay you.
Think like an investor and help them. It will be a great day for all.

Passion and Focus are the two keys you will need with knowledge to be successful in anything you do to include Real Estate Investing.
I encourage you to read, listen to cd's, watch dvd's and get around like mined people and business minded individuals.
You can't share with everyone, not everyone want to see you to be successful.

I am excited for you. I am still new myself but then most investors I meet say they still feel new. But these are exciting times to be getting into this business and with so many possible ways to make money in real estate there is an enormous amount to be learned. The good news is you don't have to wait until you learn several strategies or even master one. You can just focus on one strategy and learn enough to spot the deal, negotiate the deal, and write it up. Then get started and learn the rest as you go. I have to keep reminding myself that as I keep dwelling on how much I don't know rather than how much I do. So writing this to you has just helped me too. Thanks.

Maybe we should create little circular color coded stickers that say "DG" or "Dean's Student" or something like that.
Sorry that's an inside joke for the REAPS members. She's right though, I went to a REIA meeting Monday night and I didn't really feel all that welcome. It was like I was an outsider because I wasn't a member yet. No I haven't joined and I'm not sure I will. They didn't have half the turnout or that same kind of community spirit either. I guess I should withhold judgment though as I have only been to one of their meetings. I am really impressed with REAPS though all around.
