Why is goal setting important? Goal setting is very important as a result of they help us see a clear image of what you're working towards achieving. Goal motivate us and offer us a sense of purpose for living.

How to use proper goal setting tips? To properly apply goal setting tips you wish to be specific about what you wish to achieve. You would like to own your goal be realistic and it is really necessary to line a dead line for when you will be done. That method you'll be able to measure your progress if the is a goal that you are attempting to attain and you give it a dead line of 1 month then you ought to be 1/4 of the manner finished once the first week. If you are off either by being prior schedule or belatedly you'll simply see this and change to it therefore that you reach your goal on time or ahead of time.

to add to your thought Sherry....I completely agree. Goal Setting is the first step to achieving success! If you don't write it down then it is just a dream. Set goals, make a plan and take action.

I keep a calendar on my wall and write down small goals to accomplish each week. I'm a visual person and need to be able to "see" my goals and "see" them checked off as I accomplish them. It helps me stay focused and pressing forward.

How to ACTUALLY attain a goal is not. You must really plan and work to make them happen.

This is from Zig Ziglar.

Achieving Goals:

1. Write it down
2. Put a completion date on the goal
3. Identify the obstacles that will prevent you from achieving your goal. Write them down.
4. Identify the people and/or organizations you will need to work with. Write them down.
5. Write down what you need to learn and how you are going to learn what is needed to achieve your goal.
6. Write your step by step plan of action.
7. Write down what is in it for you to achieve the goal.
8. TAKE ACTION!!!!!

Goal setting

Here is a tip I often use. Long range goals don't seem so hugh if you break it down into little ones that lead to the bigger goals. I use them to plan out my week. Checking them off as the week goes by gives me a sense of accomplishment. And before you know it, you've arrived.

this is a great thread; I think many of us under-estimate the importance of goal-setting, and then following through to reach it.

Everyone needs a plan, and without taking action, nothing will ever happen. I have been hearing about writing down my goals since I joined the DG family over a year ago, but only recently have I come to really see the difference it makes to write down my goals for the week, for the month, for the year!

Goals are only dreams!

UNLESS you take action! Really put alot of time and thought into the PLAN and then take action. This is where the 98% fail. Just like New Years Resolutions, no one keeps them over 30 days. Health clubs busiest month is January. Then business tapers off drastically!

Everyone needs short AND long term goals. To achieve them takes determination, perseverance and overcoming fear! AND WORK!!!
