I just got my "first deal in 2013" closed. It's an assignment of contract in Brooklyn NY and I made $5,000. It may not be big money for many of you. But it is for me!
And I have another deal that is schedule to close on February 6th. It is also for $5,000 upon closing. For the second one, my buyer will pay me another $5000, when he renovates and resells the property (All together 10K). I made a special arrangement like this with my buyer.
In real estate, everything is negotiable. I am learning a lot from Dean!
I know that It's a long way to to the top, if you want to be like Superstars on this website, but I am very happy making a small step toward my goals...

$5,000.00 is big money for any of us! You will never find one person on here who would not be happy making that money. Do not sell yourself short. You have worked hard for this. Be proud!
Every Superstar here started at the same place as everyone else. It is there for anyone who wants it badly enough. I think YOU do!

Way to go man I am closing on my 1st deal this week too & w/make 2-3k long story but that is what I should make and I am making 6 other offers today. I used to live in Brooklyn NY in Greenpoint w/part of Brooklyn is that? & I love hearing you investing in NY because some people think it is too hard in high end places like ours(i am in san diego) but it can be done anywhere!

I think you have a great deal here. Like Karen said $5000 is a terrific deal. It's definitely not too small - especially knowing that you did it in NYC. Congrats!!!

Having read all the success stories of Superstars or the like on DG.com, sometimes I feel overwhelmed, to tell the truth. Because I was having a hard time getting deals done, when I started.
But now I am making a small step and I am happy doing that. I enjoy the process toward my goals, too.

We have all felt overwhelmed and often still do.
The fact that you keep at in in SPITE of feeling overwhelmed shows that you are a real winner. Let NO ONE tell you any different!
Believe me, none of us started as success stories. I actually went back this week and read my journal that I started at the beginning of my journey. It was very interesting to read and very funny! I had a wonderful group of friends here and we supported one another through it all. I met every single one of them here on THIS site! We laughed and cried our way through this together. The laughter is very therapeutic!
I TRULY believe that is the #1 thing that will keep you in the fight! Your RE Buddies!

great deals!!! way to persevere and to be creative!!! REI is simple to do, but it is not easy, and there are many that quit half way on their journey... but not you!! and now that you know what it feels like to get a deal done, there is no stopping you!
I also felt overwhelmed in the beginning, but the more you do it, the easier it gets!
