Hello everyone, I met with the first member of my "newly" formed team.... The meeting with the RE agent went very well. I was not too surprised because this same agent continues to send me via email all the MLS listings on Foreclosures and REO properties.
She (the agent) appeared very excited to join the team as we pursue building wealth via RE. She provided me with names of an Escrow officer, RE attorney, Contract attorney, Appraiser and Inspector. I explained to her I would begin working on my funding sources via HML, private lending and cash buyers.
Again, the meeting went very well, she provided me with so many "tips" of the trade and NEVER asked me what was in the mix for her??? In otherwords, the only time she ever discussed $$$ was when she wanted to know of my funding sources. Otherwise, she just has a heart to lend her services.
I have planned to bring her along with as many purchases as possible and make certain she is well taken care of.... I am learning early on people like her don't come into your life everyday!!!
If anyone can offer me some suggestions, re: what I can ask from her or what questions I should ask the other potential members of the team, pls reply with those questions. I plan to schedule meetings with the other potential members of my team in the coming weeks.
I can certainly use your comments, questions and/or suggestions, because I am and will always will be a STUDENT of RE investments. Thanks so much for your time....
Hi,
I would suggest that you bump this thread up another time. The big brothers and sisters of the DGfamily have not been online very much during the last couple of days. Those guys are the ones with the most experience and that can give you the best answers and links to threads that can help you out.
Congrats on finding that realtor though.
Angela

Will do Angela... Thanks so much!!!
wealth 2009,
Spend some time just talking about what your goals are, what advice she can give you. Like you said, it sounds like she's a good one. You want to keep her and learn from her. If she is the tye of person that is good at building relationships, people in other fields will know and trust her as well, therefore making her an awesome contact for the others that will join your team. And I would suggest having her be your ONLY realtor. If you have a sense of commitment to each other in your REI cause, you will work that much better together. RE is very much about relationships. Even if you keep YOUR circle small and only have to work on those few realtionships, those people in turn work on the multitude of relationships and contacts it takes to get the job done. Talk about what you are learning here and ask if she is willing to try new things (and possibly fail a few times) as you get the opportunity to do so. And remember, just because she didn't mention money doesn't mean she wasn't thinking it. That is her bread and butter, and she will be willing to go all out and will expect the same from you if that is how you are presenting yourself. WIN/WIN
So, CONGRATULATIONS! You're on your way!
Rina
P.S. Give her a BARM!

Thanks Rina for those words of encouragement.... I plan to keep her in the loop and work directly with her on my projects. I totally understand the fact she doesn't work for "free," but appreciate the entire conversation did not just center around $$$$.... I will keep everyone posted as I make this journey toward my FIRST DEAL!!!
