Set For Life (SFL) – Hammerpoint Project Estimator

Set For Life (SFL) – Hammerpoint Project Estimator

Just thought I would post this to ask if any of you that have SFL have used the Hammerpoint Project Estimator with any success. I have attempted to use it for a couple of estimates and found that it is not totally “user friendly” (to coin an old overused phrase). Below are the issues that I have found:

1. It will ONLY allow an estimate for the TOTAL Square Footage (SF) of home on the following items:

EXTERIOR –

- Siding
- Painting

INTERIOR – Painting /Walls

- Ceiling Prep
- Wall Prep
- Priming
- Finishing
- Wallpaper Repair

FLOOR COVERINGS –

- Carpet

I know a “rehab” is a “rehab”, but replacing ALL exterior siding or painting the WHOLE exterior/interior is not ALWAYS necessary. Also, a lot of homes won’t be rehabbed with carpet or wallpaper throughout.

I am aware that the “Other” fields can be used when figuring “Areas” for painting/carpeting, etc., but there are not enough for each Category. If you use a different “Other” box in another Category; the “final” estimate will show these items out of order and not look professional.

My suggestion to Admin and/or Realeflow, etc. is simply to add a field for “Area” to these items.

2. There is NO category for installing (hanging) “new” Drywall??

3. I cannot print a “working” copy of the estimate to view before I save it. It only prints the top part of the page (as if I used the Print Scrn key). I would like to review it in print before saving it each time.

I know that there are numerous Rehab Estimator Checklists available (thank you fellow DGer), but it would be nice to use the “all-in-one” SFL system as just that. After all, even though we purchased at a discount; to ME it was still a pretty penny!

If any other DGers have had similar issues (or have suggestions or solutions), please share them. It would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I have sent an inquiry to DGAdmin/Realeflow and will be sure and share any response I get.

Hi John! Hope you find out and figure it out. That system has its share of bumps in it doesn't it?

Laughing out loud At least I won't post this 3 times! I hope.Laughing out loud

We'll get it figured out. Just like any system, it has its quirks. The benefits far outweigh them though.

Admin/Realeflow's Response

Well...I'm VERY surprised this post got no more hits than mine and Michael's. I just find it odd that noone else has run into these issues. Or maybe the forum just got "bumped" off the list quickly yesterday.?!

Anyway; if you are actually using Hammerpoint, you are obviously adjusting totals as Brian suggests below, or WAY over-estimating your rehabs! The following is Realeflow's response to my inquiry along with another issue I had asked about; their core websites. I pretty much knew this answer, but just wanted it confirmed and thought I'd share this, also.

"Hi John,

These are completely valid points related to Hammerpoint and definitely suggestions we will embrace as far as changes (especially that bizarre printing issue which I’ve brought up a few times myself). We are making a number of updates to our software in the coming months and hopefully we can expedite these changes along with the other plans we’re implementing. One short term suggestion related to being forced to use the TOTAL square footage is that you could adjust your dollar amount to compensate for it (i.e if you only need to do half the roof then enter in half the price so that the math still works out accurately, even though the stats aren’t technically correct). I know that’s not ideal but it is a short term solution while we look at making these improvements.

As for the core website, you can certainly set up an outside core site that you could customize beyond what our templates provide, yes you can cancel your current core site with us at any time. Also, in the admin tab under “customization” there are form generators and widgets that you can use to place opt in forms in your core site so that it can still be connected to your SFL account in terms of depositing the leads for you.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions on either issue and thank you very much for your excellent Hammerpoint suggestions!

Sincerely,

Brian Pritchard

Customer Support"

Hopefully, the Hammerpoint issues get addressed soon...should be an EASY fix! If anyone has any follow up questions about this, please post them here.

I have used RealEflow for a couple of Months

Hi John,

I agree that there have been some "glitches" with RealEflow but the program overall is tight...

I too appreciate the HammerPro aspect. My coach hadn't heard of this particuar program which I mentioned is a 'godsend' in that it handles alot of the otherwise tedious details.

A a new investor, I would highly recommend it to anyone who seeks an easier way to get up and running.

The is price isn't unobtainable at around 100.00 per month depending on your choice and needs.

The Short Sales part is especially great with the ability to have others (Realtors) or Birddogs to enter their properties and have us do the "hard work".

Anyone who wishes to try it.. I highly recommend it.

Feel free to write if you have any questions.

Hey John

I'm a new student and I have the realeflow program and your right you would think everyone would be on this site talking about it and helping show others how to use it. I've had it for 4 months now and I'm scared to activate it.
