Where can I search to find info on Property

Where can I search to find info on Property

Hello DG family and others. Today I had a job interview in La Mesa (San Diego,CA) and on my bus ride home I happened to see what I believe is a "distressed" property (tall grass and weeds running amuck, windows boarded on the house and garage). I quickly grab my pen and bus schedule to jot down the address. I've googled the address until my fingers turned blue but am not able to find anything, As of right now I'm trying the county assessor site and haven't found anything yet. This newbie would appreciate any help I can get on this. Please comment or pm me, I sure could use a partner Smiling

Thanks in advance,
Lamel

City Assesors Office

If you give me the address id give you the link to the owners and property info. Basically id go to the city assessor’s office online to get the info. More than likely after that you’re gonna have to get the parcel ID # and then call the treasury office to get the status if it has any back taxes and weed liens.

START HERE. Save this link for all future property searches in San Diego

Unfortunately, in SoCal you can't just go the the assessor's site to find info. Everything is weird here.

If you have a title company you can find out info thru them. If you don't have one, it is REALLY important to develop a relationship with one. It will be more than worth your weight in gold because they can set you up with a lot of great tools, including being able to pull your own comps.

I suggest that you make an appt and go in and talk with them in person. People like to help other people, but if they know your face in addition to just a voice on the phone, they will also be more willing to help.

I also left you a msg regarding your bio on another thread.

Good luck!

Karen

Thank you Bennie, I went

Thank you Bennie, I went back to google and actually typed in "who owns property at..." I got a hit from a site called redfin dot com. The addy is what I thought 285 Euclid, San Diego, CA but redfin shows it's a MFU (mult fam unit?) Looks like there are two SFU on one lot so the addy is going to read 283-285 Euclid, San Diego, CA 92114. I'm not sure what this other info is but I'll copy/paste it ... APN 5481610900 and also ... Property History for 283-285 Euclid Ave Follow this Home
Records For completeness, Redfin often displays two records for one sale: the MLS record and the public record. Learn More.

Gonna go back and check the assessors site again, I will stay logged in here at the same time.

Thanks a million,

There is a possibility that SD Co may be different than LA Co, but that is how it is here. I wasn't sure exactly where you were in SoCal--which is another reason to have the bio filled in. We can give you better advice when you have problems or need advice.

Your advice is perfect for the majority of the country. Every area seems to have their challenges.

Thanks for the compliment! Eye-wink

Restructuring Re-fi options

So I hear the president is pushing for legislation that will allow home owners to re-fi mortgages that they were once unable to do. Not sure of all the details and if this is something we may need to be concerned with. I came across a blog that stated "we should have learnt by now to be nervous that a housing market is cruising for a fall"... should I care or just be ready to "think outside the box"...

Sorry gals and guys this

Just copy and paste and start the new thread. Put a note on this one by clicking on edit with a link to the new thread.

Once you have posted, I have never been able to figure out how to totally delete a post. You can blank it all out but it will still show that you posted and removed it.

Unless someone else knows how.
