Getting Started

Getting Started

Well I have to say that this is my first time blogging. " Ever" It is also my first time in a lot of things. I'm brand new to REI and I'm excited. I've been reading Deans books and trying to get as much knowledge as I can before making the plunge. I am currently getting my real estate investing team together. I secured a lawyer and a real estate agent so far and the rest of the team hopefully by next week. I am also getting bandit signs made and working on flyer to start working on my buyers list. I will say this I am a little nervous and anxious. I know I can make this happen. I know if I have a question the DG family will help me figure it out and I thank you for this.

Wow...much success to you J!!!!!!! :-)

Hey,

Don't worry you will do fine! I am also new as well to REI. I am much more new than you are to this info. so I will be looking to you for advice as you grow and learn. I so look forward to seeing your trials and tribulations! Smiling You will overcome so much this year and accomplish so much! Just look at it this way...yes you're a lil nervous...but you will gain not only extra knowledge, but hands on experience and as you grow you WILL become better! I can't wait to follow your lead! This saturday (as I have mentioned to others)Dean is supposed to be in a city near me, and I am going to his seminar to learn more about REI and to see where it can/may take my hubby and I. This is going to be the adventure of a life time! So just get ready and enjoy the ride! Eye-wink

Take care and be blessed!

Edit: Oh and J, I just noticed that you posted in the wrong forum looks like...it looks like this forum is only for website info and help only. So it's not supposed to have REI comments in here...just an fyi ok...Smiling

Motivation

I have been reading and studying all the available material, I started in New York and Now I had to relocate to South Carolina, my grandmother needs me. Here my resources are slim and I do not have in REI connections here.... I feel like Im in a rut... I do not want to give up. I really Love Real estate and it gives me the rush I have been looking for in employment. I'm 29 years old and I survived a 12 year relationship in which I have been married for 6 and am now divorcing for domestic violence including taking care of 4 children on my own. I am a Survivor but it seems so lonely out here.... I will keep pushing. I had my first contract here in SC but it was an REO and very difficult for me on my own and no one to partner with. The deal slipped away due to another higher offer.... Blessed and I cant wait until I have the ball rolling Im working with a network of 11,700 investors and I'm diligently searching for properties. I would love to Partner Up or Joint Venture.

Hey, Keep your head up!!!!!!!

Hey Ms. Ma'am!

I am so sorry to read that you had to endure the struggle that ended your union. However, I am glad to read that you SURVIVED and are STILL STRONG!!!!!!! Smiling Jehovah God has his hand on you, remember that! Eye-wink As for the move, I'm not familiar with that area (as of now Eye-wink ) but keep in mind, that when there is a will there IS a way girlie. Being a single mother is going to be hard work, but just know that you are strong and you WILL prevail. So far, it seems that you have alot going on with taking care of your children and helping your grandmother...your hands are tied and full! WOW!!!!!!! Also, just like others on here (except for me, I'm extremely new!) everyone goes through their ups and downs. Just take it as a learning experience and make the next deal better! Smiling Trust and know that you WILL succeed! Also, try reaching out to some of the seasoned investors on here. They are willing to help...some of them so far that I'm aware of (from reading and asking questions) are: Kareng, Reinvestor42, Dominic, Mydestiny and there are many more that have been doing this for a while. Don't lose the faith, keep it up! You are alot closer to your goals than I am! Smiling

Oh and btw, there is a thread on here that speaks about partnering...you can use that thread to also mention your area and see if there are others in your area that will work with you. Lastly, try to join a REIA (REI group) ...that's where you can learn more and network with many others and possibly find a partner there...who knows? ANYTHING can happen!!!!!! Smiling

Take care and stay blessed...you and your family!

Thank You

Thank You for your words of Encouragement, I finally have my first fsbo Home under contract in Atlanta GA. the first contract I had was an REO and it was complicated but I was Outbid anyway. I believe in my Self and I believe in Jehovah and he has proven to be by my side at every turn and I know he will make this work out for me because I really want to succeed.

Thanks

Any progress??

Hello!

Any progress since your last blog??

Getting started

I have been reading everything I can. I only have a real estate agent on my team, but nothing else yet.
I just want to discuss my "why". I really want to be a "stay at home" mom while my children are growing up. To be honest - 9-5 is not my thing! My husband and I love to be up and around during the day and we love to have new projects.

Someone at work told me yesterday that if I wanted to have kids, news flash, I'd have to be an employee until I was 60. I told her that that wasn't the only way, and to just watch. She said "Ok, i'll look you up in 10-15 years and see what you've done". I was kind of taken aback and defiant. I just said "You just watch!".

I want this with my whole heart!! I think I'd be really good at this! my husband has exceptional negotiation skills and I have the eye to see where there's potential for profit. I can't wait to do my first wholesale deal and raise enough cash to do my first flip!

Anyone done any of those yet?

Getting Started

We(my brother and I)are trying to get started! He is on fire!! LOL, but will not complete days 1-5, so we may move on. He is at the end of the deal!!! OMG!! What to do? I believe with all of my being, this dream is attainable!!

I too am just getting

I too am just getting started! After purchasing Dean's books years ago. I've been reading Dean's books since June? Oh boy! Have to get over the fear of rejections, from the phone call!! Reading Totally Fullfilled now, to get myself out of the fear mode. I need this so bad, I too moved from NY to SC., and have yet to find a job. Bills are NOT getting paid. I believe in Dean, just need to get my confidence back!
