Lest We Forget- Remembering our veterans both past and present

I just wanted to take a few moments to thank all the veterans for their service to our country and to take a moment to pay my respects to my grandfather who was a veteran of WWII. He was also detained as a Japanese P.O.W.

I went to live with my grandparents when I was 13 and so have an extra special bond with my grandparents and while I miss him terribly I am immensely grateful for all the time I did get to spend with him.

My grandfather taught me about loving and caring for one another. He was the first to help out a stranger and I can't tell you how many were brought to our home for a meal and a hot bath.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

-John McCrae- May 1915

Thank you

Lisa - Thank you for making the time to remind us of all that has been paid for our freedoms.

To our Veterans and active duty soldiers:

Thank you to all who have served, and to their families that served as well by keeping things going here at home.

Thank you to all who are currently serving and their families as well.

We keep you all in our daily prayers and are grateful for all you gave up to do us this service.

God Bless.

Roxie
