I am Roxie:
New to real estate investing with a whole lot to learn! In business with my two sons, Josh and Joe. Together we are Without A Paddle RE. Just finished our first Buying Summit and nervous, but determined to do it.
Josh:
New to REI, but with a 2-hour commute each day I've had a lot of time to listen to podcasts and am learning fast! I would love to be a "recovering" computer developer that does REI full-time. Research told me that REI was the best way to get to a point where I don't have a commute. I've already converted to a self-directed IRA and now have investment properties in place. My goal is to be unemployed AND unemployable by the end of the year.
Joe:
Not new to REI. Was a CA RE agent 2001-2008 with investment properties, and have been in construction for much of the last 7 years. I've been telling my family that RE is the only way to truly build significant wealth since 2001. Well, they are listening now! When Josh asked me to go to one of Dean's events, that he thought this was a way to make REI work, I said, "Hallalueja!". Mom and I are doing this full-time now and looking forward to Josh being full-time as well. My "why" is being a stay home daddy to Khris (4) and Dleney (1).
Our short-term goal is wholesaling and bird-dogging until we build enough cash to begin working on our long-term goal which is buy and holds or buy and flips. We are in the Northern California Bay area, and our market is already in the shift up. Good news is we've got the first contract in escrow and the second in negotiations. We would love to partner with and meet other investors.
Roxie,
It was a pleasure working with you at the Boots on the Ground event in November 2012. Congratulations on getting your first contract. The first deal can sometimes be the most difficult. I am so happy for you, Josh and Joe. Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading about your continued progress and future real estate deals. Believe and Achieve! - Joe Jurek
