Sometimes we think we can take shortcuts and still get the same results. We think we have a smarter way. Sometimes that's true. But when it comes to using time tested things that have been developed through hundreds of hours and many years... trying a shortcut is shooting yourself in the foot.
That's the opposite of smart. This blog talks about three how you can get in the way of your own success and how to avoid making that mistake.
thanks Dean
As usual this is great information. We only have our selve to blame if you do not follow what is put in front of us.And most of all you have to act on it.
Thanks Dean
You made good points in this video. When I attempted my first deal a lot of things I didn't do was realized when I reevaluated my strategy. I remember a few key people in my family was very skeptical about real estate. Now one of them is reading your book. I don't know what they will do with the information however, I've learned you can't please everybody and not to listen to people who said something didn't work for them.
I'm just getting started. I
I'm just getting started. I spent an hour getting up the courage to call my first real estate office and when I did, I was sent to voice mail. But I made that first call which made dialing that second number so much easier. I think one of the reasons people don't stick to your proven steps is their afraid the steps won't work because they have allowed fear to prevent them from gaining the confidence in the steps that only come through applying the steps. In other words, the only way they'll ever know 100% that your steps work is that they actually do them. The proof is always in the pudding. I'm committed to following your system just as its been laid out. And I'm not doing it to test the steps. I doing it because I believe. I believe in your experience. I believe in the multitude of testimonies I've read on this site. And I believe in my ability to follow simple instructions and my ability to stick with it until that first deal happens.
Hey Dean
Don't, I repeat DON'T stop doing what you are doing.Because of you and your staff I'm able to do this (REI) and able to resolve other personal issues. Just today all I heard is "no" to me getting paperwork to a title company. I realize "no" stands for next opportunity. Meaning use another stratagy. Thank you Edison. So I keep digging. I WILL succeed!!! PERIOD.
Your Right You Put In What You Get Out.....
Hi Dean and Dean Family, I'm still learning I'm at a block but I'm not blaming you it's what you put in is what you get out....I've come a long ways and I was at the bottom It was You your infamurtial that saved me...It was your eyes and your inspiration to help and the way you spoke my gut feeling said that this man he wants to help...I know that I'm not doing everything right and I'm trying hard...I live in a area that right now it's booming with oilfield and I'm not in a big city....but Dean's way will work if you follow there teaching it may not work as fast as you think....I'm still learning and I've done other things in realestate that is differant then what they teach but hey I've used some of the ideas that Dean's teaching and it works...I'm a Manufactured home dealer and I just got into it before I started with Dean...I'm doing baby steps I know in my heart that his teachings will work you have to put in to get what you want out...I haven't made my first deal yet but i know in my heart I will just in a matter of time....I have alot going and I almost went bankrupt...maybe I haven't gotten that deal yet but I owe it to Dean and his videos and the positive teaching and pushed all the negitive people away from me and a whole new world had open up....Thank You Dean and I Beleive and have Faith...Thanks to you

I am calling the other buyers on my list, and waiting responses. The property is a 3/2. what are some of your ideas family to close this first deal quickly. all opinions welcome. Thanks to the DG Family and Dean for being here for me. I am moving forward!

I know sometime it is difficult to be result oriented when everything around is not falling in place but thank you because the encouragement to stay focused, stay on task, keep your eyes on your goals is just the message that individauls like me need to keep going. Thanks
Soap box
Great wisdom Dean! Thanks! I started the success academy last month and it is kind of like learning to ride a bike. You see every one else doing it so, you know it's possible. But those first few try's are wobbly and you may hesitate to avoid a fall. That is, until you find your balance! I don't want to fall but I'm not afraid of falling. I'll get right back up and try again. The army has a philosophy for learning, it's three steps. Crawl, walk, and run, simple. I saw a sign while on bivouac in boot camp. It's a philosophy I've used ever since for teaching and learning. I hear and I forget. I see and I understand. I do and I learn! I very much appreciate the support and I think you and the academy fit right in with that last philosophy I mentioned. I just wish I didn't need my day job so I'd have more time in the day to go faster. But, then again, patience is a virtue. Thanks again for not giving up on us Dean!
I'll get off my soap box now.
Weekly Wisdom #195 - When Being Smart... Isn’t
Hi Dean, = )
All your video blogs that I tune into every chance I get are great! After listing to this weeks video blog. It's soooo true! The important information you tell us in your books -"Profit From Real Estate Right Now"! & "Be A Real Estate Millionaire" I take as a receipe if you don't follow step by step the ingrediets what to do, then of course you're liable to get frustrated, and feel like quiting. But I'm Not a quiter!! I'm a go getter!! That's why I'm taking in all that you have published in your books seriously, and taking action step by step what it tells me to do. If you don't follow it like a receipe then of course you're liable to not get good results. I like what you said, to go back and 're-evaluate' what you've been doing. Go back and re-read a chapter, etc. Do what ever it is you have to do to re-evaluate your steps, actions, investments, deals, etc. The list can go on & on!! I love every encouraging word that you give in your weekly blogs. Keep them coming!!
Have a bless day!!
Sincerely,
Sharon Guardado

Weekly Wisdom
Hi Dean
Another GREAT!! blog this week and I must agree with you 100%. Sometimes negativity can turn into positive results.
Also wanted to mention that I am moving back to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area at the end of August and look forward to really get going with my RE investing once I am there.
Thanks for all that you and your team do for us.
Ed
It never fails
I stray a lot. But I always start over the right way and it just works. Simply follow instructions.
Thanks Dean
Still moving foward until I get it, going back to do the action steps again. One step at a time. Dean you can only teach us like a teacher does in school, some people are fast learners and do well, some have'th to work a little harder like myself. I do not care what my friends, family or anyone else say, I know I have done it before and I will do it again. I have widsom and can discern when things are right or wrong, and this is what I want to do, it is right for me, because in the long run I will be able to help people and myself. Thanks for all you do. Failure is not an option for me.
Yes...
Great post Dean, though REI is not Rocket Science it still has a learning curve and I think people these days are over saturated with "push button results" to want to put the time in to make it actually happen. Just dont lose any sleep over it and REMEMBER the people you HAVE helped and those who DID listen to your advise. The rest just fall to the REI wayside.
New York City
Hey, Everyone. I live in NYC and the enormity and complexity of New York makes it seem like an impossibility to make money in real estate here. Everything is a condo or cooperative apartment -- there are no houses in Manhattan! So, is it possible to use Dean's advice and information to make money in NYC? Does anyone else have this problem in another large city?
Hi Dean
That was an amazing blog this week. Your enthusiasm is so contagious it's not even funny! Every time I view one of your blogs, I get all fired up and ready to attack something (in REI). I have 2 deals under my belt and I have 6 under contract.. 2 for a while now but they still want me to sell them. I am trying to follow the 25:1 rule but my REA only sends me 2 or 3 a day so my REI days are mostly spent looking for FSBOs. I am going to try and find another REA that is investor friendly because the one I have is sooooo busy and active that she can hardly keep up with my offers. Thanks again for the great wisdom this week!
Shirley
As usuall, exactly on point & just what I needed to hear...thx!
Dean,
Thank you again for the timely reminder. I am trying to follow the 30 Days to RE Cash blueprint exactly as you have laid it out in your book. Unfortunately life (and TS Ernesto) gets in the way.
I did contact five (5) KW & Remax Offices, asking to speak with an Agent who works with Investors. Had some great conversations and only 1 RE Agt who could not be bothered (that must be contagious in his office, as another RE Agt in his office also never responded after our phone visit). This one RE Agt was so gung-ho that he sent me 75 properties instead of the requested 6 - 8. He also tried to talk me into looking at some higher end properties, even though I told him repeatedly in the conversation that we were looking for starter SFH's in the 15 - 2200 sq ft range (3/2/2).
And to be perfectly honest, the 75 properties was a little overwhelming.... but we are working our way through them; albeit a little slowly. Hoping to make about 6 - 8 offers out of the 75, *IF* they fit the criteria outlined in Dean's book.
So thank you Dean for another timely message getting me re-focused EXACTLY on your blueprint; no deviations!

P.S. I hate those pesky spam postings too, and keep reporting them as often as I see them.
Great Blog Dean
I love the way you are constantly hands on with this website, with your coaching programs, and everything you do. Keep it up and know that we all truly appreciate how much you do!!!
do overs
When I was a kid and we would play a game, if we messed up, we would say 'do over', and we would go at it again hoping for better results. After listening to your blog, I'm calling a do over, and I'm starting at the beginning to see where I missed the 'one thing' that is not allowing anything else to work and get results. Thanks for the encouragement each week. And thanks for doing it on Monday so we have a fresh start for the week.
Dean Graziosi = Motivation
I always look forward to your blog every week, it's your positive, motivating, helpful attitude and kind personality that moves me. Thank you Dean.
Definitely
You're definitely correct Dean... For this to work it cannot be a hobby, it has to be your life. Work it daily and faithfully.

When being smart...isn't
Dean, thank you for your wisdom and I will never give up! Sarah
Dean "GoodHeart"
I feel compelled to give you a nickname or a last name or whatever you might want to call it.
As I was listening to you yesterday, explaining why you did what you did with the individual blaming you, I read your heart. You are a caring individual. You did not want to shoot down that individual. You have carefully and caringly redirected them. You did not get upset or flustered. There was no reason. People get upset when they run out of arguments or know that what they are told is true. Your stuffs work.
If a teacher instructs the whole class, giving them math formulas or Chemistry and physics formulas, if he tells them how to use them to solve the problems, in that class there will still be A students, B students, C students , D students and F students. Guess what I am an F student right now because I have not used Dean's formulas the way he wants me to. I WILL NOT BLAME HIM THOUGH. Do you remember at school the F students who always blame the teacher although there are As and Bs and Cs in that very class? They shy away from responsibility. Response/Abilty: the ability to response, to take charge and take the driver's seat. If you are saying IT does not work you right. IT cannot work. IT is inanimate. IT is a thing. IT needs YOU to make IT work. If you are pointing the finger at IT, you are losing your power. When you are pointing your finger at IT and Dean, three of your own fingers are pointing back at you.
Take responsibility. As Les Brown said :" IT will work if YOU(You Only U)work it.
Dean you are a great guy. Keep being a different breed of instructor who cares and gives from your heart. That is why I am compelled to say thank you M. Dean"GoodHeart" !
Awesome
You have pushed my energy to the next level.Love your video contest of student success. Anxiously waiting for my video device. We are finding great deals daily. Thank you for this opportunity. I will see you at the top. Thanks.
Perfect timing
Dean,
Thanks some people(me included) and certain times require us to be dealt with in a harsher more direct approach. I was just thinking I haven't had the success I want or was expecting and I was thinking It's gotta be something I'm doing wrong. I just haven't figured out what yet. I really appreciate the blog it helped to re-interate my feelings to myself. I truly believe the techniques work it I work them so I just need to work me!
Thanks and have a great day.
Jason

right on the money
Dear Dean,
I/we are all new to all of this. But, I must say that what you had to say was not just inspiring
but also "the nail on the head". We are excited about this opportunity and after 40 years of doing it my way, we plan to do it your way.
Regards,
Kevin Warner
great job
Thanks again. I needed to hear from you. You encouraged me to not stop but climb the hill.
No reason to use your personal number on signs
I'm smart! (though not smart enough to post this in last weeks blog, lol) I just figured out how to get a FREE local number to put on my signs out of town. GOOGLE VOICE! I can make a custom voicemail greeting to screen callers, they show up on my screen, I can inbox them, SORT THEM like email, and I can even have my personal cell phone call, if I desire, during specific business hours of the day.
This was one of my obstacles and I figured it out.
So full of GRATITUDE!
I normally don't post anything but after watching this I couldn't resist.
I cannot express how amazing of a person you are Dean! I think about all of the positive videos that you post and think about all the effort you put out and it is and always be inspiring. I have invested in your teachings for a while now and the only thing that holds me back is between my ears. I have no doubt in my mind that your strategies work, it is the faith in myself that i am struggling to push past, and after hearing what you were talking about it sounds like the people who can't follow your strategies lack faith as well. Always looking for an easier way to do things when in fact the strategies you teach are probably the easiest. I look forward to receiving all of your emails and can't thank you enough.
