Government Grants

There are in fact government grants. I have never, myself gotten a grant. I have however had a friend who had received one for a business venture to create a tanning and laundry.

The best thing to do is to create a business plan. I suggest business Plan Pro it costs about $100.00. Business Plan Pro has about 550 already created business plans. There is probably one very similar to what you are looking for.

Once you have a business plan you can go to local government office that is designed to set up to help you get loans and grants. We have such an office called CEDO - I have no idea what it means but we have it - they do exactly what I am talking about.

The SBA has been set up in almost all areas and they also work with what we are talking about.

Thank you so very much for

Thank you so very much for the info. I'll do my research

Yeah.. grants exist. But

Yeah.. grants exist. But they are mostly targeted. For example, low income housing, drug rehab housing etc. So you need to be willing to take on the type of project that govt wants to get done ie do NOT expect to get a grant for an upper middle income SFR.

grants

I use to be a grant write for quite a few years and I will tell you this. The money is there but its hell trying to get it and if you luck out and do get it, you have such a tight standard you have to follow sometimes its not even worth it.

I personally scrapped the grants idea nad went with solid business plans for each property. It gave me a guideline to fllow and if I needed money from outside sources it gave the th assurance that I was professional and knew what I was doing. Just because its a piec of property does not mean its not a business - its YOUR business so reflect that.

Not to deter you from grants but they ake a long time and time is money and missed opportunities.

Any thoughts on

going for one of these? I'm guessing there must be grants on both state and federal level. Do you have to be low-income or anything? Where is the best resource, in your experience, to check into these?

best source

First start by googling your area and seeing if there is a womens small business resource center near you. Usually through the SBA also. If so utilize it. They will give you listing of all grants available for women and minority business..

Next if you dont see what you are looking for go to www.firstgov.gov and research the grants database and sign up to receive email alerts for grants meeting your specific criteria.
