What NOT to say

What NOT to say

Just finished reading the article regarding disputing credit mistakes and talking with your creditors in a humane & pleasing way to get them to remove credit blemishes. I am in the process of developing a game-plan to restore my credit and after looking at the risks with these so called 'fix your credit instantly' services, Im convinced it can be done by anyone if you have the time. In either case, anything worth doing it worth doing right.

The people working at companies that handle customer service issues regarding your cable bills, credit cards, etc. obviously arent getting paid enough to eternally let you 'politely' harrass them with kindness regarding removing negative credit information, but Im sure the level of service is going to correlate directly with their mood and your attitude. In any case, youre going to have to work your way up to the supervisors' supervisors supervisor before they get tired of you enough just to say 'screw it, take it off the record so we can quit dealing with this guy.' But anyone getting paid to be in this position of authority is obviously going to have some sort of protocol to follow in what questions to ask before making such a decision. That being said, does anyone know what 'popular' questions they could ask as to why you are disputing said information, and what type of answers are more than likely going to put you into verbal checkmate? Any insight is gladly appreciated.

Hey again...

I found a company here that did it within 45 days for $399. It was well worth it for me, so just in case you decide it's too time consuming and a big pain in the you-know-what shoot me an email and I'll give you their contact info. Eye-wink
God bless,

while it may be well worth the $400.00 to pay to have your credit restored, i got it done for a much better price...FREE, Now it's obvious that i'm not a pro at fixing peoples credit, however i am a Finance Manager for FORD and deal with peoples credit EVERYDAY so it was a tad easier for me, but it just goes to show you, that you can do it BY YOURSELF, and you dont need to call any creditor up and play "lets kiss their A$%!", ALL you have to do is, know what account numbers you want to "DISPUTE" for instance on transunion's report the accounts are to your left with the creditors information and it will tell you if the account is still open or closed, your "HIGH CREDIT" How you paid on the account(that is to the right of the report), "CREDIT LIMIT", if the account is revolving or installment account, etc.(actually you dont even need to know ALL that), but on TU(transunion) i called to "DISPUTE" the account, the lady was fairly nice and walked me through the process, done. Now i think for experian i had to "DISPUTE" on-line and i did so by visiting their web site @ www.experian.com , and clicked on "DISPUTE" WARNING: you do need a current copy of your credit report to do this. As for equifax i'm still waiting for my report to arrive, so as soon as i know, if it's done on-line or by phone i can let you know.

Oh, by the way, my score just sky rocketed through the roof after just about EVERY SINGLE account that i "DISPUTED" got REMOVED, IT WORKS!

Fixing credit

The problem my husband and I have is that we don't have any recent credit activity except for our mortgage payment(not even going there Cool). We had allot of negative credit in the past that is still lingering (medical bills etc.) but our broker says that we need to establish a new credit history. How can we do that if no one will give us credit to establish credit? Any one have any suggestions?

One suggestion is to have someone you know and trust that does have good credit put you on their credit card, now mind you that may not be possible. Another option is to get a secured credit card from your savings or checking account. Some banks will do that some won't. You deposit $500 and then borrow it, on a credit card or secured loan. Hope this helps! Eye-wink

Great suggestions from Lena!

Carol, also, check out the threads on fixing your credit. There's a lot of great info a person may not have thought of.

God bless,
