GAIN THE EDGE 2013... A kickstart to new beginnings!

Deborah and I really enjoyed your presentation at the EDGE. It was obvious that your story came from your heart. Your message provided hope and motivation for many, many people. Thanks for giving back the way you do!
Seeing and meeting so many of the people from DG.com and IE was just amazing. What a nice, fun group of folks! The education at the EDGE was truly "cutting edge". Matt's current offer formula is not the same thing that Dean and Matt were teaching 2 years ago, Why? The market is changing as we speak and Dean and Matt are on top of it! Those older acquisition strategies that we were using a year ago will still work in areas that are not yet experiencing the "shift". But we all need to be ready no matter where we are investing because soon the "shift" will be nationwide.
I can't think of ANY business opportunity other than REI that would allow you to do what you have done or allow us to do what we have done. We do this full time, however, it is almost like being retired with a really fun hobby! REI is not like running and owning a business with 85 employees and 3 departments! WHEW!
For me it was an honor to be on stage with Dean and I thank God for that late night infomercial that I watched less than 4 years ago!

The Edge was truly amazing, it was my first and I will be attending it next yr. Carol I love your story especially about the incident at the hot tub, its alright I have days like that as well. You just try and pretend like it didn't happen,lol.

Everything happens for a reason even when we do not understand why. Under a full moon I had the pleasure of being in the vacinity when someone said "it's Carol Stinson" and you know the rest of the story. You handled it with grace. It made you more beautiful than you already are.

I loved your presentation and I loved seeing you with all the other ladies on the Saturday night get together.

I have to make this work. Thank you Carol for being there.

The only way that this will work for you is if you BELIEVE it will work.

Wherever it is that you go in life it is "belief" that get's you there. Whether you believe you can accomplish much, believe that you will achieve success or if you believe that you will fail then that is exactly what will happen. I have seen it over and over again in the lives of others and even in my own life.

I looked up "believe" and check out what I found...

To have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so: Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully. dictionary.com

A psychological state in which an individual holds a proposition or premise to be true. wikipedia.com

Believing in something has to come from deep inside. To truly believe is to EXPECT the results you are believing in. It is one things to "say" that you believe it is another thing to put forth actions in the name of that belief. There are those who say " I believe I can do this" but do they really believe it? Do they truly expect the results of their efforts to be in their favor or are they just going through the motions with no true belief that they will succeed? Many people say they believe they will succeed but deep inside they believe they will inevitably fail. The Bible says that our faith (belief) should not be "lip service" only but our belief should consume our whole heart, mind and soul. Only if you believe in something will you act purposely towards it without hesitation.

HENRY FORD QUOTED ..."Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right"

Are you giving lip service to your belief or is your belief that you will succeed something that envelopes you whole heart and soul? When you step forward in the name of real estate are you EXPECTING success? Are you believing that this will work in your life and that you will truly prosper? You should! After all WHY NOT YOU?

FEAR is the opposite of BELIEF. Belief is confident, strong and unstoppable. If you believe you can do this with your whole heart than fear does not stand a change and you will NOT BE DENIED!

Take time to evaluate your BELIEF in this and if it's weak then you need to go watch the EDGE videos again. You need to listen to our stories again until your BELIEF in yourself and your abilities becomes so confident that you WILL NOT BE DENIED! You need to believe that if we did it you can do it too!

Wherever you are going it is your "belief" that will get you there. So chose wisely what you decide to believe for your life.

Upon careful evaluation and honestly looking at my situation I would say it is a matter of ingrained conditioning that led me to live life by default and merely existing. Never being able to dream and decide to make the dream come true but simply living life as it happened and going with the flow as they say. Having all relationships fail including two marriages. I am not such a bad person but it is in fact that messed up stinkin thinking that is to blame and must be overcome.

I know and believe that REI works and can be done because too many are doing it. My obstacle to get past is being able to break the chains to the anchor that is holding me down and to break out of my self imposed prison with which I try to protect myself. I am finding it to be stupid. I needed to find myself first and stand on my own two feet without anyone else telling me how to live. What I now know is that I can still enjoy time alone and some solitude but I need people in my life. For that reason I chose Health and Fitness Consulting and REI so that I could be with the right kind of people. The kind that motivate, support and grow in knowledge. It is the anchor that I need to break free of. Plus I needed a way to provide for myself in old age. I have to be able to take care of myself because there is no one else in my life.

Just today I found myself questioning the value of my own life and what it is worth. That is really sad as I have so much to offer and I can live boldly. I proved it last weekend by getting myself to the EDGE 13 event no matter what it took. It did not help my finances on the home front unless I can make a deal happen quickly and that led to some second guessing of myself today. I work to banish such thoughts by telling myself that I can do it. Now, I am being transparent here and really exposing myself but maybe someone else out there can relate and have an ah ha moment. At the same time that I am evaluating myself I want to be careful about making excuses. This is no time for excuses. There is a lot riding on my making this work. I really do not want to give up my home and my parrots. They have been my only companions for the last 13 – 15 years along with a dog that I had to surrender in January. Hallie Punkin was old and quality of life diminished.

In short I must apply what I have already learned and pray every minute for the strength to carry on. I do not have all the answers but I know enough to get started.

I thank you for your post and support. All talk and no action gets zero results. I have been working on my plan since the EDGE 13 ended and have acted on parts of it. Will need to step it up and follow thru. What I could use is any simple instructions on wholesaling from home in the pj’s since I have a gas tank sitting on empty and no kid with a car to siphon from their full tank.

Carol, I wanted to tell you that you really do inspire me. This was my first EDGE event that I was able to attend in person and most certainly won't be my last.
Taking nothing away from the other speakers, (and they were all GREAT speakers) watching you on stage, pouring out your heart, telling your tale, showing the world that YOU would not be held back or down, NO MATTER WHAT!!!!, can be nothing less than inspiring. I knew you were talking to me You see, my road to the top is filled with questions that only I can answer. It's not desire, it's willing. You showed me that it's the willing that gets you to the top, not the desire. Everybody wants to be a success but not everybody is willing to do what it takes to be a success. Your journey started with needing to be willing to do what it takes. That's the mindset I and we all who want to be successful, need to have. That's where I am heading or more so, I believe I have achieved......

Since there was only going to be a 2 week break in between the EDGE and my trip up North, my plan was to just put RE on the back burner until I got back. Yea right!!! I came home from the EDGE so charged that I started thinking about what I could get done in that 2 weeks instead of delaying it. I now have some deals in the works that I can make happen while I'm gone. (That's the willing showing up!) I spent the whole day today at the library so I could download audios from IE more quickly so I could listen to them while I was driving on my trip. I let my other "duties" wait an extra day because I now have the willing to make this work. If it means more late nights, so be it. I'm willing to do that if that's what it takes.

As we discussed on IE, I MADE THE TIME to make this happen and it IS happening. I only hope that others from DG and IE are doing the same. That's the only way we will get the results.

It truly was great to see you again and I look forward to our next meeting.

and persevere. I refuse to give up and will not quit. I need my actions to control my thoughts and not the other way around. Dean even says to not over think it. Just do it. That's right, you need to be in control of your thoughts and not the other way around. The best way to do that is to have the right mindset. Dean and now Carol as well as the other successful students here all talk about being in control of your emotions and thoughts and not letting little setbacks stop you. Taking action until you get the results you were after is another way to take control. You just keep going because you know it can be done and IS being done by others so why not get it done for yourself too! As you said: Persevere! The bondage you are in is all in your mind. Set your mind free and let it flourish. Follow Dean's plan and it will happen. Don't let fear stop you. Remember, FEAR stands for: FALSE Evidence Appearing Real. There's nothing to be afraid of

I'm not sure how I missed seeing so many people at the EDGE. I thought I was being very social. lol ( And for me, that's stepping out of my comfort zone.)I already made my reservation for EDGE 2014 so I guess I will need to be carrying a big fish with me next year as that's how most knew who I was. lol

Your presentation was so moving and so motivating! As you say, the Edge event really lights a fire under us!!! and I'm using all this energy to keep moving forward... and to have many more deals done by the time the next Edge event is here!

I want to thank each of you for your kind words. I know that there are many of you who are currently where I was 5 years ago and it breaks my heart

I cannot help you get there any other way but to be transparent and allow you to see my failures and triumphs in the hope that it will inspire you to make it happen. therefore that is what I will do

There is nothing more powerful than a woman with nothing left to lose... as Matt says " I got up this morning and decided to take the world for a spin". It feels good to be in control of my own life for a change.
