google voice

Hello everyone! Let me start off by saying that I am happy to be here. I have read Dean's books Be A Real Estate Millionaire, Your Town Your Real Estate, and some of Profit From Real Estate Right Now. But for some reason I was got getting anywhere after I read the books, I had no phone calls,no offers or anything. Then one day something hit me(my wife throw one of Dean's book at me)I have to get out and do something! If I don't work then I am not going to get paid. So here is my first of many questions. When it comes to using a phone number for people to call you back does anyone use google voice or what do you guys use? I don't know if I want to use my main number because I am a full-time student and have a job, I don't want to be rude in class and I can't answer the phone at work. So if anyone can please help I will be very thankful.

I had the same question. I tried it once and then it did not work again.
I am missing some steps, especially how to change the calls to txt msgs so we don't interrupt our current career with investor phone calls. This adventure will lead us to more free time available answering investor deals promptly.

Google Voice

We set up two G Voice numbers - one designated as the call center for responses from our direct mail campaign, and the other for handling the calls in response to our online ads. That has proven to be very helpful in determining which method was giving us the best results. Over all, I'd say we've been very content with it. It does allow us to immediately answer the call or, if we can't take the call right then, then it is transfered to a vmail and gmail message transcript. The only problem is that there are three of us, and we don't know which person made the call back until the callers contact info is entered into our database. (Gmails transcriptions can be pretty darn amusing!). We use the google voice to access "webinars" and conference calls.

turn off the call forwarding

Google voice has so many features in the settings - turn off the call forwarding, then the call will go to voicemail. You can check the voicemail later and/or email message. You have a lot of flexibility with google voice.

Don't give out your personal number. If you have a smart phone, there is a google voice app that gives you easier access to your account.

g-mail

Thanks Karen, I find the e-mail messages to be confusing and was thinking about getting rid of g-mail altogether, but now I will try to convert the text to voice mail and see how that goes.

Thanks again

google voice

I personally use Google voice as well.
I have it set up so it calls my phone but I guess I don't have a job that it interrupts me. If I can answer just let it go to my voice mail that is specially set up for the Google voice then I call when I get a chance or text.
They make it super easy and convenient and I always recommend my students to get that set up first.

It is also useful when doing things like bandit signs so that no one can track you if they don't like you putting up signs around town.
If you ever need help on Google voice just go to www.youtube.com and do a search for Google voice. They have tons of training videos that talk about how to use it.

Google Voice App

If you have a smart phone, getting the Google Voice app is a must!!
without the Google voice app you have to check your Google voice account online on the computer as if you were checking emails & that isn't the most convenient way to use it.
The idea of Google voice is to have a different phone# on your phone to use for your real estate business
If you have the Google voice app, its so much easier and convenient to use, you can see your missed calls, texts and voice messages on your phone & call/text back with your Google voice number very easily right there on your phone through the app rather then get online to your computer and call/text back there.

Anson

I also use Google voice and it works very well for me.

I recommend G Voice

I use Google Voice for real estate. It is convenient and helps me manage my different businesses, as my main mobile line is my business line for my other work. I love that you can set Google Voice to take calls, text, forward calls or go straight to voicemail. Plus, it costs nothing. One of my REAs and I regularly communicate by text in Google voice because we are in meetings a lot of the time so we can alert one another quickly with updates. The app is definitely a necessity for me. I agree RoxieM, the transcriptions are quite funny!

I've been paying for Skype numbers and a freephone line for sometime and I have to say that if it wasn't for my international work I would cancel them and switch to Google voice.

I'm new to this area too.

Best wishes
