And like you said, it won't last forever. You'll be reaping big rewards from what you're sacrificing now. Gotta hand it to you at 22 (I know how it feels. ).

Thank you...I think a lot of people don't expect to have to give up certain things in order to make things work...Especially when they first get the book, or kit, or whatever they decide to get, but like anything else in life, in order to get further in life, it requires you to put certain things first priority wise...Tough to do though...maybe people can start posting things they have had to give up in order to keep things moving forward...Whether it is money, time doing certain things or whatever...It will prove to people that they aren't the only ones giving up things to get ahead in life...

when you get your book, you'll see my story in there is similar, that even if you start out young (20s)with NOTHING, by sacrificing, you can get what you desire. Only thing is YOU have now what I only WISH I had then. Dean's strategies. AND a good head on your shoulders. Now that you've determined what you want, there's no one else that can stop you. Good job!

P.S. I think you had a good idea about listing things that people have given or are willing to give up. Hopefully others will join in. You notice CBR has often given the same examples, and look where he is now! Not to mention DEAN himself, and where HE came from!

well I am very excited bout getting this new book...On a regular basis, I think bout how lucky I am to have this kind of opportunity at such a young age...I hope other will join in with things they have had to give up for the time being...all the story's bout how people go from little or nothing to making a much better life for themselves...Its so great...I have had my fair share of hard times growing up...Of course if I said I had it the hardest, there would be others out there who say the same thing...And that isn't fair for me to say and I don't want it to be a competition of who has or had it worse...Cause that isn't what it is a bout...But I can say from experience of things I have gone through in my 22 years, sucks(excuse my language), and isn't fair, but I have always continued to look for better opportunities in life cause I always want better for myself, and people around me...Like I said, just gotta be willing to give up certain things for now to get to that next level of success...And I consider myself a success already with how far I have come...And success keeps coming cause I am doing what I need to and not procrastinating and getting it done...

Marc, I can totally relate as I have been in focus mode since going back to school.....so add REI on top of that and the passion and drive to have the ability to take care of family....especially those who have sacrificed for us is a huge part of what I believe drives most of us:) I so wish I could participate a bit more on this site aside from those of you I PM every now and then.....not enough hours in the day! I have insomnia to begin with and a drive for success....so couple that with an industry that does not sleep...you have me...the walking zombie ready to make it happen!

All the sacrifice is definitely going to be worth it, I know that.

Well, that's a word I'm very familiar with. I've been sacrificing a lot since I got serious about investing a few years ago. My friends, my family, my free time, even my extra cash. I've spent all my time, effort and money on learning everything about REI. But I know that it's going to pay off in the end. I've made some good cash already and only with sacrifices was I able to do it in the first place. So at least the reason you aren't spending the time you want with family and friends is a noble one, a better future instead of partying or something frivolous and selfish. Because in the end they will all reap the rewards of your labor right?
I know at 22 it's hard to have to give up those things, but it'll all be worth it in the end when you've achieved your dreams and reached your goals!

Wow. That sounds very similar to myself having gone through some horrible things and often feeling like why me? Im in this too not only for myself but to make a better way for my family. Best of luck to you especially for taking a stand at 22. Im a little younger than you so I can definitely relate to some of your sacrifices. I feel that Dean's book is one of the best things I have ever read so far.I just have this feeling that everything is going to work out if I follow through with this. I'll be rooting for u : )

I have great feelings as far as this too...Things are tough sometimes, but I push myself to do what I need to no matter what...Giving up partying sometimes is rough, but I know that partying can happen whenever...Opportunities like I have, are not always gunna be round...And by taking this opportunity, it will open up more and more...Because of free time down the road, more money, feeling better bout myself, and so much more...I have been a very busy person the last couple months, but it has been fun for the most part...other than a few run ins with people I wasn't that excited bout dealing with cause of their attitudes, but aw well...I moved on from that...So GOOD TIMES ahead, for hopefully everyone
