Cheapest Way 2 Save $$$ On A 800#

Cheapest Way 2 Save $$$ On A 800#

When starting out in real estate investing, most new investors have very little capital. You need to save money where ever you can. You can get free business cards through www.vistaprint.com or you can advertise for free on CL, backpage, etc. However, how do you cut cost with your business phone line? You want a separate line because you don’t want your buyer hearing your family answering machine or worse, have one of your kids pick up the phone. The cheapest way I know of to get your business phone line is www.magicjack.com It only costs $19.95 for the year! That’s right, for the year! It is a device that plugs into your USB port on your computer and then a traditional (I don’t recommend using cordless phones) land line plugs into the device. Magicjack gives you a local number, voicemail, caller ID, call forwarding, free long distance, etc. You do need to leave your computer on during the day if you want to physically answer the phone. If you’re going to be out, you can turn your computer off and let it go to voicemail or you can forward your calls to your cell phone, etc. The great thing about magicjack is that it is portable. Let’s say you’re visiting family in another state. You have three choices; let voicemail pick up, forward your calls to your phone or bring magicjack with you plug into another computer and start receiving calls at your current location. Now, if you’re really hung up on having an 800# than you can use www.accessoneinc.com in conjunction with magicjack. Accessone will give an 800# and point the number to your magicjack number for approximately $5 a month plus 4 cents a minute. You can’t get anything that cheap and look professional.

Hi KimmyJ
Not to get off on the wrong foot here, but I have subscribe to a computer geek (if you will) website, for over 10 yrs. They didn't give magicjack a good rating. They said it is loaded with a lot of spyware and you can't uninstall it. That's what I read. I think people should know this.

Magicjack follow-up

I have used Magicjack in the past and was able to uninstall it without any issue. After loading it for about a week and using it, my Vista PC started having some issues. I talked to a local repair shop and they suggested uninstalling MJ and the problem appeared to get resolved. It might not have been MJ but just something to be aware of if any problems surface. The voice quality is very good and the best part is you can pick an area code anywhere. I had a number in Maine (area code 207) even though I was in another state. When I signed up, I picked a number in Maine and got one even though I was located a few states away. When I called some friends in Maine, they thought I was calling from Maine based on caller ID. Hope that helps.

Magicjack spyware concerns.

Currently, I have a Help Desk job at work, and also I have a side Geek Squad type work that I do, and Magicjack does load spyware when you install it. This is one of the reasons why magicjack is so cheap is due to the amount the spyware companies pay to have it installed with the magicjack software. Now, magicjack will install without a hitch if you do have up to date anti-virus definitions, good anti-virus software and the latest service pack with the operating system you have installed. If you do install magicjack and you start getting pop-ups, it has already embedded the spyware on your machine and it is very hard to remove and usually ends up having to re-image the entire machine. So from a tech point of view, Magicjack is not the way to go for a business phone, I personally would use Skype, or try and get a VoIP system set up on your machine.

magicjack

Thanks for the info, and I would rather not take the chance with magicjack.
There are several 800# that offer good deals. I did check on several and I chose "my1voice". It gives you 30 days free trial. Then they have different plans starting at $10 a month and no contracts. All the services they offer with it are great with no extra charge. When I get a call it can also show up on my inbox, with email message or voice. And they have several other options. I just started with them and I am very happy with it already. And through them you can also get your business cards through vista.
But do check out all the companies that offer 800#, and it is great to keep it off your personal phone, or if you want can transfer it to any phone.

Cheapest and Professional Way For 800#

A personal toll free number (also referred to as an 800 number) is a service where the person receiving the call pays for the call, rather than the caller. This allows children in college, family or friends to call you at no cost to them. This is a cost effective alternative to calling cards, pay phones or calling collect. Note - Currently, any phone number beginning with 800, 888, 877 or 866 is a toll free number. We have assembled below the most worthy and cost effective toll-free plans:

I hope this will help you in your 800# needs it did for me.

Never

had a problem with my magicjack and yes it does uninstall.

toll free number

The my1voice does have good rates. Starting at $10 per month, and free month to see if you like it.
They have been good to work with.
These are good ideas, as I have my customers leave a message, and I call them back on my personal phone which has unlimited and call anywhere at no charge. I can also have the 800# sent to any other phone if I want to answer the calls right away. I did find some other services that were more expensive, so the one I chose works really well for me, and it prompts for voice greetings for more than one business which I have.

Question

I have a question... Is it possible to have that third party 800 point to a Google Voice number which is free. I've used Google Voice for many ... many...business and nonprofit needs. The only limitation I have with Google Voice is that it only always you to have a 60 Second Voicemail.

But maybe this might be an option for you? Check into it.

I actually just talked about it a bit here: http://goo.gl/L5w7v

i might actually try it out and let you guys know how it works...
