This past Saturday (January 5th, 2013) I attended the Little Rock seminar and signed up for the 3-day workshop next weekend.
Looking forward to attending, meeting Dean, learning all that I can and getting started.
Will update this as a journal when new experiences are available.
Join me in my journey?

Welcome, Ed!
I just wanted to tell you that Dean wasn't actually at MY 3-Day.
Not to burst your bubble or anything. LOL
You are a courageous man and may God bless you, heal you, and watch over you!
Thank you for introducing me to Bill Henderson and Real Health Hope, as well.
Hey, we're neighbors really---only 320 miles from each other, so when you get ready perhaps we can do some deals together.
I don't mind driving, so "Gimme a holler!" (as they say here in Texas). LOL
You are in my prayers.

The first 2 days have left me exhausted! Maybe I am not healthy enough to attend these events? Hanging in there...
Katherine was right Dean is not here... I can see where it would be a colossal waste of his time to attend these workshops... but somehow, I thought that I understood he would be here...
Jim Anderson is the instructor, I like him but... My coach, John, seems like a better instructor .
I must say that all the pitches for the advanced courses (no matter how good they are, and I do believe them to be excellent) have kept them from sharing some real "meat" as they seem to have spent hours of my time talking about aspects of the advanced courses which I probably can not access until after I have completed some deals and put some money in my pockets.
And now when I am physically exhausted, they will dump so much information on us today, finally... hope that I can keep up...
Purchased a new notebook for the Workshop (prior to the workshop) and have been taking many, many notes... The information comes in bits and pieces and I am hoping that today they will actually bring the pieces together for a clearer picture of how to be successful...
Thank you for reading and for posting your responses, it is nice to realize that I am not all alone, despite appearances.
Homework for the first day lunch was to obtain a credit card (or for those who have and use them to call and get their interest rates/credit limits adjusted...just ask!)
My dad passed away recently and I am a "Junior". One of the credit reporting agencies has me listed as "deceased"! So, I think that I was denied on my first attempt to receive a personal credit card online (they will send me the response in the mail...)
In the past, the insurance companies have always tried to put my dad's accidents on me and I always set them straight and get the better rates that I deserve (no accidents or tickets, Class A, commercial drivers license, I am a professional driver! (legally, you need a CDL to drive a fire truck!))
I did not give up and applied for a business card, approved!
Given that my doctors told me 7 months ago that at that time I had just 6 to 12 months to live (so according to them I can die any day now and according to them I will not live to see July this year...) Do I waste my time and energy informing the one credit reporting agency that I am still alive? I have decided not to bother for the moment...
What do you think? Am I really going to need them?
Who did you get your business credit card through, and how is your business set up? Is it a dba, corp or LLC?
I'm not really very healthy, either, and that's one of the reasons why I'm considering real estate investment. I think that wholesaling would be easier and more profitable than working as a realtor, and I also wouldn't have to punch a clock on a part time job.

Hi Ed welcome we are over joyed to have you , keep moving foreward, Jim
jbischoff
I'm waiting on the mail from the business credit card company... not sure who they are and I really don't want credit cards at all...
LLC's are what the pro's are using so that is where we're going.
This market will not last. I am sure that Dean will have a new (to me) way to make money when these methods do not pay so much. Being a student is good, having Dean as a Mentor (even if not a direct mentor) is good.
I have so much to learn yet... DVD's to watch, online tutorials to watch, PropTrend to learn, and it seems that spending time daily will now be a part of my routine... but I need to turn a deal in the next 60 days...and am not sure that I know how to do it!!!
Working for yourself is the only way to do it. Face it, we've tried it the other way and should know better... When I had my own business years ago, I owned several homes free and clear and I even had a live in maid!!!! It did not happen over-night...but after several years...of hard work and missed meals...
Ed, you have to start some where and why not start with your journal and keep things posted there so you do not lose track of the things you have accomplished so far along the way, I live in Texas as well just on the other side of txarkana. If you ever have served in the military before a good place to think about a credit card but only for personal use, not sure about business that has a good rate is usaa, I have theirs and I love their rates which is the advantage of having served in the military or still serving they have good stuff there.

Thanks Shawn, yes I was Submarine Service for 10 years and I loved it! So, I will take a look at usaa.
Yesterday, as I left the 3-day workshop, I was not excited about what I had learned and was about to embark upon.
Today is a new day and after reading my email account, specifically an email from customer service, I am much more excited! I can do this! You can do this! Dean does read the forum and the profiles!!! Thank you for believing in me!
Hey Ed,
Best of luck to you and the journey you are about to take. There will be challenges you will face, but if you stay strong and continue to push forward you WILL come out on top!

Here is a FREE property analyzer I've found:
https://tvallc.infusionsoft.com/go/RehabLite/sroberts/
It's a great tool to use to help analyze your deals (and did I mention it's FREE)! But, you really should spend the $97 and get the full premium edition! IT'S AWESOME!!
Dean has a special promotion, Home page in the upper right hand corner about a Life Mentor... I just joined and I have to say that I am very very impressed! Give it a try if you have not already done so!
I have read about this program too along with others that dean has offered on here, long story short my wife was out of work for some time, had to go to school to pick up a new job trade due to few jobs in the area, the cost of this plus all the other bills piled up to and this on one income and working every hour I could get that I was home long enough to eat take care of person things and sleep a couple hours. As a cdl holder one has to bend the rules and manipulate things as well when you have no choice. I was asked twice if I would like to join the success academy, oh yeah I would love too but how am I going to pay for that too. Right now I am in one of those phases to where I could just do about anything and say the heck with it all actually, nothing has a meaning for me any more and has been this way for some time.

I sent you a pm Shawn.
The 3 day workshop is just the beginning of a great journey! There is so much info provided by DG that it is easy to get immersed in the theory and neglect to actually take action!
If you haven't read DG's book 30 Days to RE Cash, I recommend that you do- it's pretty much a recipe to wholesaling!
Another awesome book by DG is Totally Fulfilled... a must read!
Wishing you much success on your re journey,
Valerie

In mid February, I was admitted to the hospital (ICU for 3 days followed by a full week in the hospital) they fixed the bleeding in my lung, but caused a stroke in the process! Left me partially blind! Some other health issues as well...on top of terminal lung cancer...
Not much of an excuse for inactivity.
Using the information taught during the 3-day course, in March we purchased our own home! Bank owned property (had been foreclosed) bank was asking $17k, we offered $12k and after telling us "no" twice, they accepted the offer, then closed a week later!
The house last appraised at $65k. 3BR/2BA w/detached garage, near major hospitals!
Obviously the house needs some work and we are well underway with that work, but I have been sleeping inside for a couple weeks now! (Still not moved all our furniture in.)
When we pulled the nasty carpet out, we found well protected hardwood floors! Bonus!!!!
Once we get moved in, we'll look for the next house to buy/sell.
Thank you Dean!!!
