REI process of recovery

REI process of recovery

In response to weekly blog #120- The myth of the leisurely life, I think we learn early on with each time that we fall down or bump into things that we will survive the scrapes, bumps, and bruises of life. With that said, each one of us is individually conditioned by what we have thus far experienced. For most of us we start school around the age of six and I know I always looked forward to Friday because I'd have a weekend break. That mindset carried over into my work life. So, I would not say that I expected to live an easy leisurely life. I do see that we also learn to live a life of regimen thru school and work. That means we had a systematic plan to get our education and then we had a work regimen. Now keep in mind that we all have different experiences so we are conditioned differently. Some of us experience more hardship than others. Some of us have more luck if you will. For that reason it is extremely important for each of us to be considerate of anyone we come in contact with. One of the first things that I learned as a youngster was the "Golden Rule".
DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE OTHERS DO UNTO YOU
I'm so grateful to have learned that. Now, I will admit that I do sometimes say some things that may seem off the wall or out of line, but it is never my intention to hurt or harm anyone. Personally I feel I am here on planet Earth to serve.
In reviewing this weeks post I spent a lot of time thinking about it. Bare with me as I try to connect the dots on this. What I came away with is that "recovery" requires balance plus focus. And "balance" requires regimen which in turn requires goals. Now a regimen is defined as a systematic plan or a regulated course or manner of living, a step by step process. So your plan should include 7 goals:

spiritual
financial
career
physical
family
mental
social

Next for recovery> assessment of the situation, determine plan of action
> recovery requires the correct mindset
> goals as they would apply to the project
> do's and don'ts
> accept what can not be changed and change what you can

It is my hope that this will make sense to who ever reads this and perhaps be of some help when you are making your own personal assessments. Like Dean says think a little different. Good luck to all with your real estate investing deals. We have homework to do to make our deals.

Your comments very thoughtful and so very true. We sometimes mistakenly hurt people by what we said or the way we said it. Of course some folks are so easily offended you cant say anything. Thanks for your insight. I hope your REI is going the right way!

Thank you

I really needed that . it helped to clear up some directional issues I was having thank you so much

Thanks guys

This was my first time to put up a new post and I was not sure people would be able to find it. I truly want to help others because it does make life easier in some ways and helps me to. I am slow to grasp some things but once I get it I do ok.

Diane

Thank you, you have Humbled yourself and inspired many other's. May GOD continue to Bless you. Jim

You are very welcome Jim

It was my pleasure! One thing I try to do is keep things as simple as possible so that also requires a regimen. Most important though is to keep the faith and hope alive.

Another aspect of recovery - - -

Be sure to look close to see what your obstacles are. Live in the truth and not in denial. Face your demons by acknowledging what they are. Then send your demons away. Remove the obstacle. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here yet. Start the day by adding to what you are grateful for list. Then review and add to your "To Do" list of items for the present day. Tomorrow is not here yet so do not worry as that is a waste of precious time. Have a good breakfast and Thank the Lord. Then get on with it. Remember if you are not doing something in real estate every day then you are not investing in real estate. Focus on your follow ups. That is paramount.

Thank you Esteeanna

This is great to see before starting this new week. The past few have been challenging so this is a little insurance to stay on track. Thank you for the insight!
