I think that OKC is a good market to invest in, as the houses there have not lost as much in value. Prices and interest rates are low, as they are in other Oklahoma and Texas markets, and that is a buyers/investors market. Sellers are the ones that are having problems, but that is what investors do, supposedly, is solve the problems.
Lubbock, Wichita Falls and Amarillo are also good markets. I deal in them all.

for the bay area... the prices are high, but pretty stable, especially in high-end areas.
Know your areas and do your due dilligence before you invest in any town! Numbers don't lie; if they don't add up, keep looking!
