Hi all, anyone have comments on their luck/experience with printed vs handwritten bandit signs? I've tried handwritten with not too much luck and just thinking about trying printed just to try it out. I'm not real big on the pricing that I have found though, about $3.20 (including sign) so if I wanted to do 100 would be $320. Any thoughts? Thanks, Andy

It has been proven over and over that you will get MUCH better results from handwritten signs.
Save your money.
Just keep putting them up. Try different places. This week the person may not need you but they might next week.
Good luck!

drew, the reason why you want to hand write is because it makes it look person. Not just some company/corp trying to bring in more business. You get an almost instant credit of someone really trying v.s just mass printing and sticking on the ground.
I am part of a team and one of my team mates sent out about 200 yellow letters to targeted groups, He got about 2 responds from his professional looking letter.
I sent out 230 hand written letter ( THANKS KAREN lol ) and sent it out to targeted group and so far iv got about 25 calls and this is just the first week. im hoping to get 230 calls ; P
But these guru's like Karen are telling us why hand written v.s printed and professional for a reason ; )
What are you writing on your signs when you handwrite them?

Thank you for the feedback as I was just about to order signs...now I know for sure to order blank and hand write the signs out.
For those of you ordering signs, the general consensus seems to be the best place to buy is signwarehouse.com. You can get 50 of the yellow coroplast 18x24 signs for $58.

as Kareng says, signwarehouse. Thanks Karen!
HAND written works well for BUYERS - ( Must Sell 3/2 etc).
however, theres debate over printed/handwritten signs when YOU will offer to BUY.
Some say that if you have handwritten signs - "I/We Buy Houses" that the 'view' of ppl who want/need to sell, think IF you can't buy 'printed' signs, HOW can You BUY my house???....
but,
SURVEY says, printed signs are better.
IF it looks a 5 yr old 'printed' them....go figure, BUT, If you printed it with some marketing flare to it, it gives a better feeling.
Mix it up and see what WORKS for YOU!
YOU be the Judge.
PRINTED signs for BUYING.
Handwritten for SELLING.

It is the most effective way. When you buy, people respond more favorably to working with someone who doesn't look like a fly by night operation. But when you sell, you want people to think you are desperate to get more inbound calls. Just my two cents.
And Karen is right about signwarehouse.com
Always Looking to Acquire Houses | Always Looking to Amaze Investors
I have couple of potential retail buyers seriously wanting to buy, 3/2. I'm in California. My buyers are located in Central Valley and Bay Area. The problem is I don't have houses to sell for them right now, anyone has home at these locations? and would like to work with me and we can split the earning if anything closes with these buyers. I need houses in Central Valley and Bay Area 3/2, with pool if possible, but not necessary.
I agree with Karen, handwritten is much much effective, this gives the potential buyers the feeling that a particular homeowner is seriously or desperately wanting to sell their home and buyers would like to take advantage of it
My take: Hand-written signs say you're a relatable [ordinary] person and not as intimidating as a big company or corporation (with mass-produced signage) could be perceived. Handwriting conveys as more personable; approachable.
Anyway, are we supposed to be reinventing the wheel here?
Shouldn't we simply follow the time-tested, results-proven method handed over to us by our mentors?
Yellow signs w/bold black hand-lettering. This works!--provided they're clearly legible.
Isn't it more about location, location, location? And strategic placement.
As well as, the timing AND the amount of signs being essential to this guerilla marketing technique? It's a 'numbers thing' in direct ratio to saturation.
The more signs seen, the more responses you'll get.
Bandit signs are consumable; expendable devices.
Better to get them as cheap as possible!
More $$ for other marketing strategies then.
Suggestion: buy 100/mo. to put out 25 per weekend. Order half as many stakes.
Cut them in half (using a hacksaw or heavy duty wire cutters).
Place the signs nearby HEAVY traffic: major intersections, on/off ramps, near malls, etc. (35-40MPH)
I like the medians at left turn signals. This way when drivers catch the red light they can catch my number! I put mine out at 5AM Saturday mornings. Takes about an hour. I plan & route locations ahead of time during each week. I also double check them at least once during the weekend to see if they're still in place. A few last till Monday AM.

DIRTCHEAPSIGNS.COM CHEAPEST ON THE WEB. IVE SEARCHED EVERY WEBSITE. And i agree with everyone that handwritten works best. And as Karen says you got to keep putting them out, try different places, and be persistant. Some weeks you might get 2 calls, Some weeks you might get flooded with 25 calls. Its the way the business rolls. THE KEY IS PERSISTANCE !!!
