Hello DG Members,
I have really enjoyed watching the Gain the Edge videos because Dean and the guests continue to give me more and more ideas. I really enjoy how Dean talks about being organized. After all we are in the Information Age and how we utilize our time can determine "good from great" time management.
I believe the more systems you can put in place the better decisions you can make based on the information you have available to you. I believe Big Bold Bodacious Bountiful Brilliant Business Cards Build Buyers - Tracking Results get Results!
Thus, here is the general idea:
1. Get your Business cards today! Do not delay! Most office supply stores like Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, etc. have deals on general business cards such as 1,000 for under $20.00.
2. You want to track which cards work and track how quickly you are distributing the cards.
3. At the beginning of each week count out 100 cards and see how quickly you can distribute the cards. The log can summarize how and where you distributed them such as individuals, groups or even leaving a stack at the local grocery store bulletin board. The idea is to pass out cards each and every day. Each week try to hand out those cards faster than the week before.
4. Mini Billboards! - These cards can act as mini billboards for your business! Yes, how cool is that! The more mini billboards you put up and hand out, the more business you will get!
5. Keep a general log of when people contact you, where did they receive your card from. If it is a grocery store, find more stores. If it was at the train station when you commute to work, network more on the train!
6. Over time you may make changes to your card. Track which cards got you the most calls and work on distributing more of those cards.
I hope this helps. As others have more insight on this, please share your thoughts with the group. Good luck on all your deals. Believe and Achieve! - Joe

The next time you're out eating leave a few around the condiments on the table, or in the menu, when you pay the cashier give her one. Next time you're at the library leave some in the real estate books, when you pay a bill by mail stick one in there. If you're on a shoestring budget and $20 is a stretch, vistaprint.com has 250 FREE cards, just pay $5.99 for shipping, that'll at least get you started and in the habit of giving them away. That's how I started!
Psalms 118:23 "This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes."
Thanks for all the additional tips and insight. It is so true that you encounter so many dififerent people during your day to day activities and the opportunities are endless. I really like your suggestions and thanks for sharing them. The tip for more cost effective cards is great too. Best wishes and continued success! Believe and Achieve!

Elena,
I love your idea about the different places you can hand out your cards. That's excellent and definitely thinking outside of the box by distributing your cards without actually speaking to anyone.
I'm definitely going to use the idea of handing them to cashiers along with my check. I've even added the phrase "Ask About Our Finder's Fee" to my free vista print cards which may attract a few more people that need extra cash.
I'm even going to take Dean's advice and make up separate cards for the different types that I want to attract. For example, cards attracting people in foreclosure as opposed to cards attracting potential investors. I guess I just to get more organized and develop that tracking system that Indiana-Joe mentioned.
Good Luck Everyone,
Felicia
Hi everyone,
great ideas about distributing the cards. I have also heard Dean talk about different cards for Buyers and Sellers. But then I have heard it's best to put Buyers on one side and sellers on the other. Then theres cards that specify a market like forclosures. Pesonally i want to target forclosures and Porbates. Should i get a card for forclosures, one for probates, one for "I buy Houses" and one for "I sell homes"? WOW i think i need to lay down! Any sugesstions on whats best or what has worked for others would be appreciated. Thanks.

-Now who are you to say it can't be done?-
Oh yeah before i forget, do you guys advertise a free recorded message on your cards? maybe some examples of whats working for you. Thanks.

I like the advice on the vista print. The cards are really cheap and effective. I buy them all the time.

Thanks for posting your good ideas. We have to get more cards and will check out Staples tomorrow.
Elena, thanks for adding more good ideas too.
Someone told me she picks up a loaf of bread at the grocery store she'll leave her card behind (most grocery stores in our area don't have bulletin boards.)

Thanks for the comments. You never know when the next great idea of card distribution will hit. Another key is always have your cards available because opportunities are all around 24/7! Today's leads could lead to tomorrow's deals. Good luck with real estate investing. Believe and Achieve!
