Mold

there is all kinds of mold what does it look like? How much is there?

Well I haven't bought any of the properties for fear of the mold but a couple of the homes have small amounts in either the basement or garage. The mold looks black. Is there a difference that I should look for? Is some worse than others?

potentially it can be a huge problem that will become a millstone around your neck. for something like mould i would suggest getting expert advice.

I would agre with Frank. This potentially could be an enormous problem. I had a personal experience with battling mold and it was very costly. The mold was not visible and there was no offending odor that even tipped us off to an issue. We had a child that was allergic to it. Just by chance I had caught the problem by doing a remodel. Doctors were even misdiagnosing the problem. They had no clue as to what was wrong with him.

Basically, mold is everywhere. There is good and bad mold. We happened to have the toxic kind in a wall cavity in the insulation. It was very expensive to properly dispose of the issue. I would recommed expert advice whenever dealing with mold! Atleast do air quality testing if you have any questions or concerns regarding this issue. I hope that this helps!

I would reccommend talking to a few diaster recovery businesses. They are trained to deal with that.

Anyone take on a major mold remodel project that can give advice ?
