My first thought about fear would be to read 2 Timothy 1:7 of the Holy Bible.

Preconceived notions go right along with:

F.E.A.R. - False. Evidence. Appearing. Real.

You're on the right path though. Surround yourself with like minded people who have done what you want to do, (DG.com) and start talking to them about your goals and dreams. You'll find most had the same fears and preconceived notions you have when they first started out.

Join a local REI mentor group in your area and if you there isn't one close to you, there is always people on DG.com who are willing to help. I will say this though, while some advice on this site, can be rude, condescending and a bit uncalled for at times... (you know who you are) I really believe, most are hear to help.

Even the harsh advice is the swift kick in the butt we all need from time to time to get moving.

You must understand right up front that this is a serious business where people depend on REI to live. Some people here think that this is a nicey nice place to visit and chat, false. It is the best place to chat about REI and how to get ahead in your life. This is a cut throat business and make no mistake about it, people will steal deals, it happens every minute of every day. But if you stay on this site, read, learn and study and study perhaps you can avoid some of the pitfalls that will cost you $$$.
My partner Jeremy and I have been associated with this great site for almost 3 yrs now and have made many friends along the way. We have even met Dean on a few occasions and let me tell you he is the real deal.

There are so MANY awesome ideas that will make you money -- floating around here through out the forums.

Like Jan said we are here to invest in real estate and how to get ahead in life .

My statement I use to make me change

I have a statement that I use with myself to help me change. It is easy to do the things you have always done, but you are going to get the same results you have in the past.

Statement
If I do what I've always done, I'm going to get what I've always got.

I have to change in order to create something different for my life. I hit a down slop in my live and went to the bottom, under water. I new I had to change, and I was forced to change or I was going to lose everything I had. I changed my investing strategies and since then I have completed 15 deals and now have a cash flow I don't have to work for anymore.

Don't be afraid to change your direction

Starting out for the furst time

I have an idea that I'm not so shure that it well work or not?
this sarounds a one time morgage that mite work,

ask a bank if I can put at lest nine 3bedroom to abth homes on one margage,
and have the bank fineance 100% with $5.000 on each home for rehab,
and thin refinance these homes just so that I can rent all of tham out.

Do you think that is mite work?
