I'm getting started in NYC!

I received Dean's book in the mail on Monday night - so excited! I have been wanting to invest in Real Estate for many years, but kept getting side-tracked by different obstacles, and time keeps marching on. I'm determined to make it happen now, and I think the timing is perfect.

I live in NYC and though it's a little intimidating for me to approach these Keller Williams offices because they're in great, expensive neighborhoods - not necessarily 'starter home' neighborhoods in NY and NJ, I am still gonna get to it and start filling my buckets...

Wondering if anyone else is working like this, from scratch in NYC and if you can share your experience, advice?

Best to all of you!

Tools for Helping Your Business

Homesnap is a new app available on the iPhone and iPad and coming soon to Android. What you do with the app is take a picture of any home and get information immediately for over 90 million homes in the U.S.

The app lets you access MLS listings, rough value ranges, and public records data simply by taking a picture on your smartphone.

If Homesnap can't immediately identify which home you are targeting, the app will display a map of nearby properties, prompting you to select which home you wish to research.

The Homesnap app summarizes the home’s history and value while providing a comprehensive array of details including:
- Square Footage
- Lot Size
- Number of Bedrooms
- Number of Bathrooms
- Year Built
- Estimated Taxes
- Exterior & Roof Details
- Heating System

Thoughts in a blender

Sometimes I feel as though my thoughts are in a blender. So much information that I am taking in to begin this journey to real estate investing. Bandit signs, flyers, buyers list, "A" players on the power team, ghost ads, offers offers and more offers. I am learning so much yet fear I am letting so much information leak out the sides of my scope of retention, if that makes any sense. This is going to become second nature to me, right?
I am not an "I am going to TRY this" kind of person. I tend to jump in with both feet when I've made a decision. Trying is dying...just DO it! Smiling
This is not an "I hope I can do this" situation for me. It is an "I AM going to succeed at this."
Now to make myself DO it!

Real Estate Investor Clubs do not exist in Staten Island

I have been doing a lot of research and have found that, unfortunately, there are no REI clubs/groups in Staten Island. They have some in NY and the prices of homes are so high. I've decided to target my search and start of business in PA. I checked online and found a REI-Group called DIG. Has anyone heard of them? They seem to have a lot to offer.I will be driving out to PA tomorrow to visit the neighborhoods and get a feel for what's out there. I have a good feeling about it and am anxious to be up and running soon. I am grateful for all the invaluable info on the DG site. It has truly inspired me to move forward. Thank you, DG Family!
