Hi Dean and Everyone!

It's been A WHILE because--just as Dean's Blog mentioned--
I have been going through an emotional meltdown that has happened to me about every 10 years since I was 18.

I am now 48 and it has happened again. Sad

In December 2010, my daughter and I were hit HEAD-ON by a man driving on a revoked or suspended license!! Because of all of the stress from the car accident, I also slipped in my bathroom and hit my head SUPER hard on the floor and got a concussion that was WORSE than the car accident!

In addition--ALL related to the car accident--car dealer salesmen playing their "mind games", a NEGATIVE bedside manner back specialist for my daughter that I drove 2 HOURS to see who spent a whopping 2 MINUTES with my daughter and downplayed the HEAD-ON car accident--oh and the latest--that the other driver gave a statement claiming that "he was SITTING for 2 MINUTES trying to turn left and that I CAME INTO HIS LANE AND AND MUST HAVE BEEN TEXTING OR ON MY CELL PHONE."
He OUTRIGHT LIED!!!
Why should I be surprised?
Should I expect THAT A MAN DRIVING ON A REVOKED OR SUSPENDED LICENSE AND HIT US HEAD-ON WOULD SUDDENLY TELL THE TRUTH???
ALL OF HIS CLAIMS ARE THE VERY THING HE WAS PROBABLY DOING!!
This man's car CAME FROM NOWHERE!!
He either suddenly WHIPPED into the turning lane or WAS DRIVING IN IT!!
The FIRST THING HE DID after his airbag deployed was get out of the car and ON HIS CELL PHONE!!
Oh and interesting SIDE POINT--IMMEDIATELY--AS SOON AS THE POLICE ARRIVED ON THE SCENE--THEY HANDCUFFED THE GUY--SEARCHED HE AND HIS CAR--SO I HIGHLY DOUBT HE WAS ON HIS CELL PHONE CALLING 911 TO GET ARRESTED!!
I EVEN wonder if he was FLEEING FROM THE POLICE WHEN IT HAPPENED!!

Dean, I think you could have seen STEAM coming out of BOTH of my ears when I heard the latest about this "statement" from him!!! Sad

So, now I think you all will understand WHY you haven't seen me here for a while on the site and making comments like I love to.

I pretty much have already REACHED THE BOTTOM of the slippery slope and I have learned A LOT from it!!

Just like making a wrong turn, hopefully we will try NOT to make the same wrong turn again--but, instead will go in the CORRECT direction.

Yes--I think the icing on the cake came from the car dealer salesmen with their "mind games".

My husband and I have been married 19 years this May and one debt we have NEVER had--is a car loan! We have always had used cars and have done fine.

Also, I got a chance to speak to the salesman on the phone. I was very assertive but respectful. I let him know that I have been ill because they played with our minds. I told him the whole set up was like "Deal or No Deal".
When he tried to get me to give him info on the mileage of a used vehicle being sold by a private individual that we were on our way to see--I told him that the whole set-up at the dealership was like "Deal or No-Deal"--with the desks sitting up high with "the Banker".
I told him "We are DONE--NO DEAL!!"
With that he FINALLY got it and said "You have a nice day ma'am, goodbye."
Oh, and WHAT have I learned from ALL of that?
That I WILL NEVER LET ANYONE PLAY THOSE MIND GAMES ON ME EVER AGAIN!! Smiling

So--thanks SO MUCH Dean for reminding us that ONE THING we HAVE TO DO is REVERSE the steps of what may be leading us or has already led us to a MELTDOWN--so that we can GO UPHILL AGAIN!!! Smiling

I am SNOWBALLING my way BACK UP THE HILL at a faster pace than ANY of my previous episodes.
I am taking the drivers-seat and being ready so that perhaps I CAN CONTROL that maybe there will NEVER be another meltdown for me--because I have LEARNED NOT TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES THAT LED TO "the perfect storm" again!

ANY POSITIVE ADVICE OR ENCOURAGEMENT regarding my accident or my comments would be GREATLY APPRECIATED and therapeutic!!
As many of you know--just putting our thoughts in writing is also very therapeutic! Smiling

Deep Feelings,

Patty

Slip Sliding Away....

I love that song. I have been dodging those snowballs coming down the hill. I may be in a financial bind but I have a lot of things to be grateful for. I still have my electricity and the internet so I can watch these blogs and keep being encouraged. I haven't stopped studying. I keep thinking of my goals and how to get there. One of these days I will be able to help encourage others that are having troubles to keep plugging along. This is the Avenue I need to keep on to reach my Dreams.

Thanks Dean,
Lisa Eye-wink
