Dean Graziosi Weekly Wisdom #205 - Getting Your Head in Gear...

Stress is often fear based. Fear usually comes from thoughts and perceptions. Sometimes those thoughts and perceptions are rooted in the past or the possible future...neither of those places is where you need to be. In this blog, Dean reveals how to shift your mind into the "NOW" gear and offers a simple way to help you do that every day.

Just got off the phone with my coach, and we are breaking down my goals in smaller, bite size, achievable goals, so as not to feel overwhelmed. She is awesome to work with. I set a goal on October 1st, and I am almost halfway towards reaching one of my goals (to lose 20 lbs by November 17th), as this morning the scale was reading 8 lbs lighter! Whoohoo. Now what does this have to do with RE? Everything. It means that setting goals applies to all aspects of your life: emotional, financial, physical, social, and spiritual. Do you think losing weight fits into one or two of those categories? Absolutely! Feeling better, looking better touches each and every aspect of your total balance. Setting goals, writing them down, setting a date, facing obstacles, and overcoming them gives you a real sense of control over your life, living it in the NOW! And you get all the support and encouragement you need inside the Elite website.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BALANCE

There isn't anyone whose life isn't impacted by all of the uncertainty that exists in our society right now. The book, THE POWER OF NOW, is an excellent read.

Two other books that I've recently read that also explore this subject are WISHES FULFILLED and THERE'S A SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

By taking the time to "unclutter" our minds we get our emotional/spiritual selves in line. Performing this exercise is necessary for getting our lives in balance, and it isn't always easy!

Dean clearly illustrates the importance of this in today's video. Many times the things we don't "see" are the very things that are holding us back. Believe me, I can relate from my own personal experience.

This website as well as the Insider Elite website are great tools (especially support). With such guidance, we continue to move forward on our road to real estate success.

Remember to always believe in yourself, stay strong, don't be discouraged, have patience, and remember to breath! You never know what wonderful gift is waiting for you!!!

Blessings to all,
I.C.

Shifting of Gears

Hi Dean,

I just started reading a book called "You can't learn to ride a bike at a seminar". I think the title says it all. Once we get your education, we have to get on that bike and start peddling for ourselves! If we don't, we'll never get anywhere. I think that some of us are just overwhelmed by doing something we've never done before. We need to break through the fear, and start peddling. It's the only way we'll get to feel the wind in our hair!

Thanks Dean!

You always amaze me because of your genorosity and sincerety. You are so right about the mindset and how I should not paint a picture of the worst that could happen.

God Bless!

SO True

Valiant's picture

Today my daddy died.

He was a great man and I only hope that I accomplished as much as he did and become as great a father as he was.

I encourage everyone to live in the "NOW" not only in pursuing your dreams but in every aspect of your life--your family, spiritual life, financial, social, etc.

Tell everyone near and dear to you that You love them and that they are very significant part of your life.

God Bless!

Insider Elite and Power of Now

sphi99's picture

I am ordering the IE and will check out the Power of Now at the library this week! It's so true that we let our past or some memory of something that is "dead and gone" haunt us in the present. Or that we worry about tomorrow and what will happen if we do the or say the wrong thing, but if we live in the 'NOW', the past or future won't even enter our minds because we will be too busy working on the present. Thanks Dean for another great weekly wisdom!! You always give us food for thought and I like that!!

Dean,a bullseye.Sorry about not hitting the ball yet to Eric, but I have been part of the DG family four years and the first deal hasn't been hit by me either. However it's just like Dean pointed out, past (last weeks labor),future (this weeks bills). He just hasn't came down the chimmy.Talked to realors and just like Dean called it,na sayers, not now, that isn't what is working. So climb back in the rut I know will make next weeks bills easy for another week. The answer was given to me(us) over and over, action will get results. Now,to the basics, now. I like that. Once again Dean thank you for staying in there for all of us. Enjoy & Until

Everytime I listen to your weekly wisdom, I get so inspired! We put our first 2 offers in last week (see OUR FIRST 2 OFFERS in Forum) and what a roller coaster ride it's been. But for every block, we found a way around it. From going over the realtor's head to make her put our offer in to scheduling a meeting with the opposing attorney to figure out exactly what he needed to put our transaction through on this probate sale. So where are we getting the guts to do this? Dean's inspirational weekly wisdom. Everytime, I second guess myself, I tune into DG site. You are so right! Work in the NOW. We are now working on putting together another offer on this other house. So exciting! Can't type fast enough! A huge thank you, Dean, for coming into our lives when you did. Gotta go....need to update my Forum blog...the beat goes on.... Have an awesome night!

Keep it up we all need all the encouragement we can get. I will continue to keep my goal- to pay off my house within the next 5 years. Being in the moment

jcwp's picture

Thanks Dean,
Living in the moment is a constant challenge for most people I think. We were just talking about it the other day with my brother. I love the saying "It's okay to look back, just don't stare."
Worrying about the future is a waste of energy and will not change the outcome.
Living in the now is powerful and worth the effort.

Have a great week!

Julie and John

Very Powerful!

Valuni's picture

Dean,

thank you for doing another weekly wisdom for us!
Your message is very powerful; although it sounds like a simple thing to do, living in the now and not in the past or future takes quite some effort; it's hard to let go of the past, the regrets, the what ifs, the if I had done this or that differently... and not worrying about the future? who does not worry about the future?? I know I do, all the time! but because of your advice this week, I will truly make an effort to start living in the now!!! forever now!!!

Valerie

This really hit home!

I saw the video for the first time a few days ago and couldn't stop thinking about it. I came to realize that everything that he just explained was true. I never realized how much it effected me because for me I thought it was just a normal way of thinking. I have a huge anchor that is weighing me down. One from my past and another from my future.

May 4, 2012. After struggling for years to find a good job my baby (dog) Princess of 16 years was diagnosed with cancer in her lungs and the doctor told me that she had to be put down right there and then. I was devistated. The only way to save her was to go threw a an operation worth over $5,000 that had to be paid in full. I didnt have it so I had to do something that I have feared for many years. I had to put her down. Till this day it still haunts me. "If I would of started making deals before that happened I could of saved her".

Another part of that anchor is my future. Im always stressed about starting to make deals. Always thinking if I dont start now that by the time I do the market will be horrible. I will be looking at myself in the future, looking back at my present time thinking to myself "Man I should of listened and taken some action" "I did it again, I failed again". Stressing about things that have not yet happened.

It is really hard doing this by myself. I know I have support of this site and other RE investors I talk to, but there's a difference between talking about it and doing it. I dont want to fail, I cant fail, I dont think I can handle it. Only 27 years old and have a whole family relying on me to do this alone and come out on top.

This video really put that into percpective. Something that I have never realized. Thank you Dean. I hope that now that I am aware of it, I can find a way to overcome it and move foward.

ps: sorry for the wall-o-text. I felt I needed to let it out to the only people who understand.

Thanks Dean

Yes, you are so right. I know i live in the past and that is one of the things I know I need to improve on --living in the now. I know what I want and it is not the life I am living-I need to take your advice and Just DO IT. Life gets in my way--I know this is only an excuse. Excuses do not make money or help others,
Thanks Dean again...Love and prayers to all Diana
