Hurricane Sandy

Hi Dean.
great thing you're doing for the victims of the hurricane. I live in Philadelphia and compared to the rest of the Tri State area, we came out relatively unscathed. Power outtages, downed trees and some flooding, but lucky nonetheless. We here in Philadelphia send our prayers out to EVERYONE affected by Sandy. Even those who weren't in its path, but had loved ones who were. As always, Dean and all of us in the DG family send our love and prayers in this most trying time.

Hurricane Sandy Victims

Praying for all those acts of kindness as gifts to keep the folks on the East Coast save and will keep their intentions on the prayer list over the next few weeks during these many hardships each are facing.

My experience shows Sandy's damage will be felt for years

I was part of Iowa's Katrina or Sandy in 2008. At that time it was the 4th largest disaster in our nations history. Those who lost their homes to Sandy have an incredibly difficult journey ahead of them, especially with winter coming on. It will take months (or years) for folks to rebuilt. The thing I learned is IT WILL EVENTUALLY GET BETTER. Take it day by day. And prayer helps. Good luck and God Bless. Karen

To all touched by Sandy. My heartfelt prayers go out to you. May God bless you with the Grace to weather what ever comes your way. Know that you are the receiver of prayers all over the country.

Be blessed.

Thanks Dean for being the person that you are.

DG, thanks for doing this!

DG,
I was born in Brooklyn, NY, grew up in northern NJ (Teaneck) and went to college in Bridgeport, CT (Univ. of Bridgeport), then lived in Somerset, NJ before relocating to Louisiana. I have friends and family all over NY, NJ, CT, and additionally PA, DE, MA, VA, MD, DC, etc.
They were all so very supportive to me and people all over the gulf coast as we dealt with hurricanes Katrina, Gustav and Isaac.
Most of my family and friends who were hit hard by hurricane Sandy have their power restored, but there are still a few people I know personally who are still in the dark (and the cold)!
Dean, thank you so much for all you do and thank you for your good heart.
Reggie

Hurricane Sandy

Dean,
I’m not a part of your group yet, but to see how big your heart is just blows me away “Thanks Dean”. I’m in NJ now with most of my family. We made it through the storm with only minor damage. I have been donating anything I can find around my home tohelp the ones hit much harder that I was. I pray for any family that did lose a love one, but cause that is the only this we cannot replace. I just hope every that was affected can remember this:
The Footprints Prayer
One night I had a dream...

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before us,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
There was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way;
But I have noticed that during the
most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me.
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.

God will help us through this!!!

John

To my fellow Americans in the storm damaged areas of the North East,
I live in Florida and have been through 4 hurricanes. All I can offer for comfort is to tell you that you will get through this. Don't count on the Government to help, as you are finding out now, you must help yourselves get through it. You and your family first and then your neighbors. Share food and warmth, etc... Pray to the Good Lord for provision and He will be faithful to see you have what you need. My prayers are for you.

Prayers from Calgary AB

Watching the news and seeing the devastation Sandy left behind, it is impossible not to feel anything. My prayers and thoughts are will all those who have lost their homes and lost their loved ones.

Keep Your Head Up!

For all of those who are without food, without power, both, or even much worse because of Hurricane Sandy, our thoughts go out to you. Please keep your head up and stay strong. I know this too shall pass.

Hope for the hopeless

The longest power outage I have experienced was for a week added to that deep snow. I cannot even imagine a power outage including a flood or worst yet total devastation. What I do want to say is that you will get through this. There are people in the world that are interested in your well being. Sometimes we have to trust people who we never would have expected to connect with. It’s in those times that we grow, learn, and experience life changing relationships. Look beyond the now and keep hope in mind for your near and distant future. There is someone grater, larger and bigger than yourself who will help you through the mental and emotional land mines, booby traps, and obstacles. He will put you in the path of great men. Stay focused and don’t lose faith. God wants you to reach out to Him so He can show you how he favors you, even when you feel you don’t deserve it.

Way to go Dean! Shows what can be done when working together as fellow human beings! I donated to Red Cross this morning. Glad to see you're helping in a big way. Keep up the good work and keep all of us informed on DG. My thoughts go out to all who were in Sandy's path. I was lucky being in Plymouth, MA. Very little damage here.

Residents of the east coast

Residents of the east coast, my heart goes out to all that were affected by the storm. It is a devastating blow to lose everything in the blink of an eye, but keep God close to your hearts and your prayers will be heard and answered.

You must believe things will turn around for the best and it will come to pass.

I will continue to pray for you all. May God be with you.

Going Through Difficult Time

We all go through tough times at one point in our lives and it is devastating to lose hope and feel all alone.

As a human race we are obligated to help one-another. I appreciate your kind and giving heart for including our (DG) family in this act of kindness to restore hope.

Our prayers go out to our fellow human on the East Coast for safe recovery.
