I really feel it for the

dominoafekt's picture

I really feel it for the people out on the East coast, especially for those still without power or that have lost everything. Some people don't realize the significance of Sandy. Dean, you're the man! Always looking out for others!

My heart is breaking for you.

Well, Hurricane Sandy came in with a hard hit and caused a whole lot of trouble to say the least. It is unbelievable and devastating. Some of you have been hit harder than others but we are all each and every one of us affected by that storm. In so many ways that I can not list them all here. Some of you have lost everything and so many are cold and hurting in a number of ways. To you I say take a deep breath and try to relax a bit to help yourself thru this. You will get thru this. Just try to clear your head for a few moments here and there and take it a step at a time. Lots of help is on the way and God is in charge. Guardian Angels are in your realm to protect and guide and watch over you. We can not know why these things happen but they do. Just acknowledge the Lord your God or the Master of the universe that you believe in. I am here in California - Sacramento. Our PG&E sent 100 people before the storm hit and a caravan of trucks and equipment. Another 150 went just after and our Red Cross members also left here before the storm hit. Things will never be the same but we can pick up the pieces and go on. You are feeling a lot of grief and despair right now that will come and go for quite some time. Just be good to yourself and create a new future for yourself. I am thinking of you and praying for you as so many others are. I am so so sorry that this has happened to you. May God bless and keep you always in HIS care.

To All in the NorthEast; May God Watchover you...

Our hearts reach out to you all; " storm sandy "

When My family and I heard about the devastation and the tragedies caused by Storm Sandy, OUR HEARTS IMMEDIATELY MELTED with deep compassion for you all, all of you who have been affected, whether Minor or major destruction, of it.
Remember, it could be worst in each case, but when something happens especially when we have no control of it, it's GONE, it's NOW in the PAST, so the only place we can look forward to for good changes is the heavens and the future.
Here is our prayer and hope " Where else can we head for if we were trapped at the bottom of a tank, and have absolutely no where to turn to, but determined to get out ? It's obvious, we'll be thriving through to the very top, right ? ". Sorry, it can be very painful and unbearable, but let us pray together, believe together and set our eyes on victory to win an uncontrollable event.

** Our hearts completely reached out to you all, we pray victory and brighter days to come, Amen ? **

where Sandy hit, my thoughts and prayers are with you!
When mother nature strikes, all we can do is pick up the pieces, and move forward... hug your loved ones, pet your animals, count your blessings, and have faith that things will get better!

Praying for you all!

I've lived in hurricane country almost my entire life, and know what it's like to be out of your house because of flood waters and lack of electricity. But I am absolutely humbled and shaken by the destruction and heartache left in Sandy's path. Those poor people who have lost family or friends break my heart. I wish I could do more for them, and appreciate the outpouring of support from the DG family for them!

SANDY

We went through this storm also. It was very scary. Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you who have suffered losses & are still trying to pick up the pieces. GOD BLESS.

To all those affected by Sandy....

AndyS's picture

In a twisted act of fate, I was just in New Jersey, where I moved from in 1974, in the town where I, my Sister and Father all grew up in, to visit a very sick relative just one week before Sandy hit. My last visit was 5 years ago. There were so many things that were new or had changed since I'd moved away yet so many things that were still the same as when I lived there. I still have family and friends that still live there as well so my concern for them all was the only thing on my mind when I heard about this storm's path. You see, having moved to Florida, I have been subject over the years to many Hurricane warnings and close calls but was only impacted directly by Hurricane Andrew and more recently Hurricane Wilma. Andrew was supposed to make landfall where my Parents lived at the time and where my wife and I had just purchased a new house to raise our daughter. The fact that it came ashore further South only meant that I was spared a direct hit but not the damage from the storm. But we pressed on, cleaned up, repaired and moved on. Hurricane Wilma was a different story. The eye of the Hurricane came over this same house which meant more damage, more destruction and more devastation. Our entire neighborhood was described as "like a bomb had exploded in it." But our neighbors and we gathered together, organized a cleanup and moved on. I have seen, first hand, the destructive forces of these storms but I also know that many positives can come out from these storms as well. For us, our community grew stronger. Neighbors we never knew or met became friends and strength was forged by this communal effort to not be beaten down by this storm. We recovered, rebuilt and moved on.

So to all those effected by Sandy, I say that I know what you are going through. I feel your pain. Even tho I live hundreds of miles away from the area, I too have lost a very important part of my life as my hometown has been described by my family and friends as "decimated, destroyed and gone." Most all that I remember from my childhood can now only be seen in my memories. Even if rebuilt, it will never be the same. My whole family was not spared as the town where my Mother grew up, (just 5 miles away) was also destroyed.

It is now your opportunity and duty to repair, rebuild and move on from this storm. To not be down heartened but to forge strength in your communities and come together and show the world that you are not beaten but just a bit bruised. Bruises, in time, always heal and go away just as the destruction you see now will too go away in time. Stay strong, move forward, move on. Life will get better with time. I've been there so I know this to be true.

Thank you Dean for doing what you are doing to help all those effected by this storm. Your generosity will help many people I know that are still effected.

Dear Dean

Thank You for all you do.....God Bless You

I am here on the East Coast. I am in NYC.....I am one of the fortunate ones.....

My prayers go out to all those who lost loved ones.....THEY ARE IRREPLACEABLE......

Regards,
Sharon

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

AMEN

We live in NJ-15 minutes

jpgreig's picture

We live in NJ-15 minutes from NYC. Yes, it was crazy around here those couple of days. Thankfully we only lost power for 2 days. As I type this, my sister and her family are here as well as my daughter & her husband. They still don't have power & are getting alittle frustrated but at least we have each other & roofs over our heads.
We spent a weekend in the beginning of October "Down the shore" in Seaside Heights (which we do alot)-walked the boardwalk, strolled on the beach & now that boardwalk is destroyed. I can't believe the pictures that I saw of the pier.
I for one am thankful that we were spared-I am also touched by all of the kind words & prayers. Thanks Dean & everyone for caring & good luck to everyone who were not as lucky as we were. Our prayers go out to you as well.

GOD BLESS EVERYONE AFFECTED BY SANDY

my thoughts and prayers are with you.

and GOD BLESS YOU TO DEAN. Thanks for giving us this way to help the victims of sandy.

Hurricane Sandy

Here in southern Maine we watched in horror as Sandy dessimated the mid coast. We dodged the bullet and received minor damage compared to NY and NJ but we do know the pain. My town had a 19 inch rainfall in 24 hours and the next year we had an ice storm that blanketed the entire state and we get blizzards fairly regularly, so we know your suffering. We were fortunate enough to clean up quickly and send some of our line crews and tree crews down to help get you back on your feet. I know it won't be what it was...it will be better.
Give it a little time and let God help.

GOD BLESS EVERYONE AFFECTED BY SANDY

Praying

jackk09's picture

Good stuff Dean, I personally know several folks that lost businesses and houses in this storm. I am originally from the Jersey shore and still have family and friends up there. My brother, NJ State Trooper, told me this evening that there are no places to rent all the way past central NJ now because people have already locked them up since the storm. The schools are shelters and packed with folks with no place to go. My folks got power early this morning finally and have invited folks to come stay with them. Would love to hear ideas you all have for helping the folks up there and if I can help in any way, please let me know. TONS of prayers for my Jersey peeps everyday!

Superstorm Sandy

Being in the DC area, we didn't feel the full wrath that Sandy unleashed on the Tri-State area.

Want to send out a prayer to all the DGer's that were affected or have family affected by the storm.

Perserverence and compassion make themselves known in these unique moments.

Thanks Dean for making this possible and for making opportunities come alive!
