Vancouver is a suburb 15 minutes from downtown Portland, OR. Their are great tax benefits living in Washington instead Oregon, which is why Vancouver has grown to what it is. A lot of people work in Portland and live in Vancouver as a result. A decent rental here will have multiple tenants applying to rent it very quickly.

I live in the Denver area. Unemployment rate for Colorado is 7.7% in November of 2012 but Denvers is 7.8% in October 2012. Last year the unemployment rate for Colorado was 7.9% and Denver 8.0%. In the Denver area a three bedroom house ranges but on average around 190000 depending on the location. It rents between 1100.00-1500.00 a month and taxes are about 1800 a month this depends on the area. The current days on the market are in the 60 days.
