Peter R's Journal

Peter R's Journal

Hello Everyone!

I Just finished reading deans book real estate-millionare, and im very interested to continue my education in real estate.

Im not sure where to begin but i think it would be best if i maybe shootover some ideas that i have, and maybe someone can give me advice if i am taking the correct path or not.

I havent called deans mentor number yet but i think it would be a good idea todo so. I think it would be a good idea in-that, by tagging along with a real-estate person, they can show me the ropes of buying and/or selling a house and making a deal, along with how making a deal and understanding the process of real estate works. (like i said, i havent called the mentor phone number yet that dean listed in his book, so i dont even know if this is what he means by a mentor.)

If this is a good first-step, i would appreciate it if someone guides a light. like i stated, i just finished his book and the only thing i have under my belt is what was stated in the book and the notes i have taken from reading it, mostly terminology for words and understanding of the examples from the situations that were presented.

I read a little into the 101 basics on this forum and have a couple of questions also:
A. What is escrow, and how, when, and why do i need it? i dont believe it was ever explained in the book.

B. This might seem like a ignorant question and/or wrong question: Making a deal on a re-assign is just as easy as calling up a FSBO and making a deal with them, a realtor, and a buyer?

Ive walked around my neighborhood and found some houses.

I would like to put any and all progress in this journal.
I walked around my neighborhood and found alot of houses that were either FSBO(about 7 of them), or were being sold from a Real Estate Agent(about 10 of them), OR were being Sold by the Construction company(about 2 of them).

Some of the Houses that I was able to recieve pamphlets from the sign in front, i saw that out of the 4 i picked up, the cheapest one ive seen was for $349,990 up to $650,000.

All of theses houses are within a 5 mile radius, (if my legs arent decieveing me) i walked to all of these places up and down the streets.

Good morning, Peter.

First of all, welcome to the DG family! It is good to have you here. You will find it is a wonderful place to learn, and to find support from others pursuing their REI dreams.

I do think you're right about calling the mentor program as a first step. You will definitely learn as fast as a person CAN with the curriculum, homework, and guidance from the coaches. And they will help you choose the best target market for YOU. (it may not even be your own neighborhood). So give them a call if you are motivated and dedicated enough to stick with a pretty aggressive program. In the meantime, read all you can in the forums (there is a TON of info), and start getting your feet wet.

God bless, and again, welcome.

Rina

P.S. You will find all the answers to your questions up above by reading here. You can do a search on specific subjects. Then just throw yourself into it. Smiling

My current plans i need to work on..

I feel that i would like to start on this REI inventure now, but i currently have a few obsticles in my way:

I just went through a job loss not to long ago and just recently got a new job that dosent pay that much and the hours arent exactly substancial to my circumstances. I need to be working a decent amount of hours inorder to get my feet set on the ground..
But, what i do like about the lack of hours in the meantime while everything gets situated with my new job, is that im able to study more of deans book in the mean time and ill be able to accomplish a task.

A. Since i have some spare time on my hands, Im going to make a Binder of all the information that i learned from deans book, im also going to try and re-read the entire book, and look for anything that i might have blanked out on or had any trouble with.

B. I have to get my finances in order, Once i get my cellphone back on, im going to leave a message for the mentor program and see where that goes. I presonally dont want to sound uneducated and want to impress any real estate agent who even considers mentoring and dosent have the time and patience to regret it.

C. Im going to look into deans First book, and try and find out if i missed anything that wasnt covered or clearly explained in the "BREM" book, as i read the book, to me i just feel it could have been more spreadsheet with numbers other than text explaining what happened.

Peter...

Having a plan is a great way to start. Once you reach your goals keep adding more short term goals and also write down your long term goals. That's what most successful people do. So you're on the right track! Eye-wink

God bless,

Peter

Nobody brags about the mentor program more than I do. Ask Rina and Elena (they are in my inner circle!!) You can't compare the valuable info in this program to any real estate program out there. Don't forget, alot of realtors are salespeople, not investr's. Not that being a realtor is bad, not at all, in fact since I am in the mentor program and with the knowledge that I have now, I would be a great real estate agent. With the mentor program, your caoch is with you all the way, and if you have a question, they are just a phone call away. When I was working on a deal a couple of weeks ago, I called and talked to Jeff, and let me tell you he was great. We talked for at least 45 minutes, and he probably saved me a bunch of $$$ and headaches. Think about it before you make a move on any other type of program. Write me any time that youu have a question about the program. Now go learn and make money.....Jan

Peter,

Where did you get your book? You are saying that there was this business card inside your copy of "Be A Real Estate Millionaire"? The college you are speaking of is not a part of Dean Graziosi's group. As a matter of fact, dgadmin had posted about some info about this:
http://www.deangraziosi.com/node/8038

How sad if someone was deliberately putting THEIR business card in Dean's book. NOT someone I would trust or respect.

If you want a mentoring program, call the number PRINTED in the book. You can't go wrong with them.

I wish you all the best with your REI. You're right. you're gonna LOVE it even more once you start making some deals (and serious $)! Smiling

God bless,

Rina

Escrow

Peter, you asked about an Escrow? Escrow is an agreement between two or more parties providing that certain instruments or property be placed with a third party for safekeeing, pending the fulfilment or performance of a specified act or condition.

Hi Peter.

Honesty is good. Smiling (That's why it bugged me about the card in the book).

You're going to love the TALD program. We look forward to hearing of your success as you move forward.

Wishing you all the best,

Rina

Up again

Peter,
I don't know if you got to check out that website, but I see they updated it last night for September. And the house increased by another $10,000 in value! I hope you're in contact with a realtor and zooming in on learning the market in your area, Peter. It doesn't hurt to start practicing the real stuff as soon as you can! Get out there and look at those houses. Get a feel.

Tell me if you'd rather have me PM, OK?
Just want to encourage you because I can tell you're serious about this.

Rina
