Fax machine

Fax machine

I am contemplating buying a new fax machine; can someone who's doing a lot of contracts of signing of papers tell me if you use you fax machine alot. I am just wondering if I need a new fangled bells and whistles one. I used to live overseas and had a top of the line one that I liked, and now I have one without the phone attached. Any thoughts?

I don't use one. I do all my contract signing online. Here in Denver I think the service is called E-contracts. Check with your agent. Sign with your mouse and send it back! If I do get a contract that must be downloaded and signed. I just do so, then scan it and email it back to the agent. I know a lot of people still use a fax. I get by with out using one at all. Point is, you don't HAVE to use one to do business.

not absolutely

not absolutely required.

I do have an all in one printer. But don't uses the fax.(I don'thave a land line at my home, cells for everything - lol)

I print doc, sign and scan in and email the PDF if they aren't local.

You can subscribe to the fax service to get a fax # but it does the same thing. when someone faxes something to that # it converts to a PDF and sends as and email attachment.

In the last three years, only had one guy that didn't have a scanner but a fax. I went to the local Kinkos, gave him the fax # and waited 5 minutes while he faxed it. It cost around $5 and I was in and out.

Where there is a will, there is a way! lol

Best wishes,
Jen

LOL! sorry Michael

Sorry Michael. You had a faster trigger finger.
so didn't mean to duplicate.

Great minds think alike huh!?! LOL

Blessings,
Jen

Thank you so much for your

Thank you so much for your help. So I'll just get new ink as I have a printer, scanner and fax, so guess just need to check out e-contracts. Thank you so much Michael and Jen! Sincerely, Tammy

E-contracts ...agents use docu sign in California

It's contract software allows you to sign your offers electronic signature. Aget fills in all the info ad emails you the contract to sign. E-contracts are similiar I beleive. Your agent should subscribe to it if they arent using it. Here in California I think my agent paid about 200.00 or something like that to register. If you are submitting offers through agents docusign is what most agents use in Cali.

Ringcentral Fax isn't too bad

I pay about $10 a month & I can scan to pdf file & email it to the fax number. I've used the online document thing too before a couple times. I also get a voice mail option on my line, too.

Fax Machine

If you end up REALLY needing one... I'm using metroFAX which provides me with a free 800 number (or your area code if you choose) and provides you a way to fax right from your computer, smartphone, etc... it also accepts faxes and sends them back to me via email as attachements. It's been great since I and doing a great deal of faxing in my business. It cost me a little over $7 a month to have that service.

They give you a free month to try it out as well... might be worth it if you end up faxing a good amount. It's REALLY easy to use.

Fax Machine

There are some instances where a Fax machine would be handy, however you have lots of good information from other posts above. I have found the free www.OpenOffice.org suite provides a great word processing program that emulates, Microsoft Word. The neat thing is you can open the scans and then export them into PDF format to email to people. I have used it over and over. It is free to download and is backed by Sun Microsystems. All you need is a scanner or 3 in 1 printer.

Tammy,

I have a fax machine but use it rarely for real estate. A scanner is a more important tool for myself as I send things as a .pdf file. I also use national online signing services (Docusign) to complete some contracts. Especial if you don't have a land line, how would you use a fax anyway? (Unless you were going to use a fax to email conversion process.) Just my two cents.

Oh Bill, I do have land

Oh Bill, I do have a land line. I just meant the type of fax machine that has the phone attached. Sorry, about that! My phone is of course hooked to the fax machine. It does sound that it is not that crucial a tool, so what I have is fine. Thanks, Tammy
